FIRST the flare THEN the EQ ;) Unless the force that is causing the earthquake and the solar flare is something else, on the opposite side of the earth at the time. Then its energy or whatever caused this would have hit the earth, and then 33 minutes later hit the sun. Last Edited by trippiness on 01/05/2013 10:17 AM Don't be afraid to let go. |

I say most definitely. IMO |

Perhaps, one day some laboratory finds scientific evidence in this regard. But, at the present, there is no scientific evidence of a causal relationship between space weather and large earthquakes. Perhaps, some day it will be... There is, however, some studies that have found that certain changes in the atmosphere would predict the occurrence of large earthquakes: electromagnetic signals released by the crushing of rock crystalline structures would cause changes in the ionosphere that could be monitored. Anonymous Coward User ID: 17808897 Canada 01/05/2013 12:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What are you guys all talking about. The Earthquakes haven't stopped for 14 days. Since the 21st of December the boards have been lit up with 4,5 and better. Over 60% percent of the Earthqukes have been over 4.5 and alot of them over 5.5. Thats not normal. Thats a huge increase. Huge. Alaska has been having swarms of Earthqukes in the 4's. Its called a precursor to these bigger ones. It was just a matter of time. Some of us check the data three times a day looking for patterns. You guys don't pay attention till there's a big one and then you start trying to link it to things you don't understand. The Sun woke up three days ago with a Solar prominence that exploded. There are two active Sunspots out of 7 on the Suns face. There is also a Coronal Hole and we will be in the Solar Wind from it 7-8th. There are other Earthquake swarms happeneing in different area's. Significant ones. There are alot of area's at risk to have bigger Earthquakes again including Japan. Phillipene's. Tonga. Middle America. Mexico. Turkey. Russia and Iran. If your going to play Earthquake then learn somthing and watch the boards everyday. Read. Pay Attention so you can see things coming. |

palomine User ID: 31214188 United States 01/05/2013 12:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Actually, there's plenty of evidence that electromagnetic activity in space causes earthquakes, especially when planetary alignments are involved. Earthquake science is suppressed, but some scientists have figured it out and are using it to predict large earthquakes. For example, last spring, there was a gigantic earthquake in Mexico that just happened to occur on the same day when there was a gigantic earthquake drill taking place. The same thing happened in Haiti in 2010. It was all a result of planetary alignments and the phenomenon known by the ancients as the "music of the spheres."
