Cats are generally aloof and above bonding with anyone. However, when they come to accept and learn to love a human being - that love lasts for the life of the animal and maybe longer. Cats, like all creatures, respond to love, but for cats - when they know they have the love of a human and that person becomes "their person" in their mind - it's for life. Treat them with great gentleness and respect - they are far more than the casual felines we think them to be. FAR more!

I was a confirmed "dog lover" for almost 25 years and then a friend gave me a kitty she could not keep. The next 18 years that cat was the most amazing friend I ever could have dreamed of having. When she died I think our entire family was in mourning and grieving for the loss of our friend for almost a full year. It was an amazing relationship. I'm just grateful I was here to burry her and I did not go first. I think she would have stopped eating and hastened her own death had it been the other way around.

People say they love animals and yet they allow them to be enslaved in barbarian conditions. Pigs are supposed to be as intelligent as a 3 year old human child, and yet they are enclosed in animal auschwitzes, along with cows and chickens etc. brutal testing is done on so many animals. all of these animals feel like this cat. all of these animals can love and form bonds.

More like sad rather than heart warming....poor cat lost his best friend and still misses him.

Heart warming story. That's why I have the local animal shelter in my will...my dogs have been loyal to me every day of their lives. All they want in return is a little attention.
