USGS in my neck of the woods measuring discharge rates from a local river..neon green jackets with USGS log on back, literally standing in the river with a device. Spoke to them to confirm it wasn't methane they were measuring. A first for me seeing these guys in MI....didn't know they did this kind of study various different reasons. Said they were gathering information for possible use of reclamation of property by local governments.
