If I'm a socialist because my health and wellbeing are more important than money, that's fine. It's funny because we use money to provide ourselves with wellbeing.

Employees are not valued commodity, we are the most valuable assets. It's like saying a conveyor belt isn't as important as a customer. There wouldn't be a customer if it weren't for the conveyor.

I feel I get equal payback because I have health, dental, legal, and disability insurance... and none of that comes out of my paycheck. 4 weeks paid vacation and 3 optional days. Overtime is after 5 hours. Wage increases are clearly defined by seniority, not ability. The contract dictates everything down to how warm they have to keep the building in the winter.

Yet, out of all this we come to work every day and most of us give our best effort. Yes there are some people slacking but they can be moved to a position where that is more acceptable. My employer invests into us as we are it's most important asset therefore I show dedication to them by doing my best work, everyday. There has never been a day we haven't got the job done. Except when we were on strike, but obviously that doesn't count.

So I sound pompous but I'm talking about labor rights in general, not I am the center of the universe.
