Fuck the USA, I am moving to Mexico..

I just lost my 40k a year job, have no savings because of the cost of living in this shithole country, and am sick and tired of being a fucking slave to the man.. I'm going to tie up a few loose ends here, get a passport and purchase a one way ticket to Cancun..

I know nobody there, but its beautiful. I am a graphic/web designer so I will bring my laptop and hopefully find some work from the resorts, OR, at least work remotely for U.S. clients I have so i can make american money which goes much farther there..Eventually I would like to find a full-time job with a design or marketing company who will allow me to work remotely.. Making USD 30k a year while living in Mexico would be like making 90k in the USA..

I am sick of the stuck up fucks that occupy this country, sick of the non-existant american dream, sick of the taxes, the politicians and the fake ass people.. People do this everyday and everyone I have heard of is glad they made the move..Seriously, FUCK THE USA and everything it stands for..

Good luck, Mexican Immigration is loaded with requirements.
Bank deposit and ongoing income just to name a couple.

It is a long term strategic plan.

Use all the other country's oil reserves first.

Plus Mexico bans all guns so it's probably a really nice and safe country to live in.

I did it....been living here 8 months....its a lifestyle that affords me soo much free time Im looking for things to do, leaning guitar, painting etc. everyone is happy here. No stress. Beers are 1dollar, tacos are 2. Beach is free, nights are breathtaking. Ive never been happier.

good thinking! there are thousands upon thousands of Americans who have done the same thing. Expat communities are huge in just about every state in southern Mexico. Around 30,000 live around Laka Chapala outside Guadalajara, many more around Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta, coastal Oaxaca and Veracruz. Around Lake Atitlan in Guatemala are many more thousands and that is without even talking about Belize and Costa Rica. Cancun and the Yucatan in general are where you will find more of the "ugly americans" than anywhere else and it is quite expensive in comparison.

A friend of mine moved down there a few years ago and was shot and robbed within the first month.

I laugh my ass off at the Americans that say Mexican cities are violent. Take a look at the damn crime rate of NY, Chicago, Philly, Detroit, and L.A. before throwing stones at Mexico....Probably 10x more crime in the U.S.

I hired a couple of different companies to make web sites for my business. The first one (Lexis/Nexis) took $6,000 from me and said it would be up and running in 30 days. After 5 months I asked where I can find it on the web. They said it would take time. I quit paying them and never saw a web site. I tried a couple more times and never got one going. A buddy in CA did the same thing and never got one going. Now I won't pay anyone to build me a website - they'd have to build it first and then I'd pay them.

If you deliver a product - websites - maybe you could do it on your own.

Been living in cabo for 2 years....way safe...i have net business too...cheap beer awesome good live in a resort with a water view....ask me anything...

Im right on the beach with a view...3 pools ...downtown cabo...i walk everywhere...rent is 950 usd a month...bit this os kinda luxurious...u can easily rent a whole house 5 minuts oit of town with a view for 700 or a new condo for 500.

Good move Op. Cancun is great especially if you don't speak Mexican. It's like an American theme park there. We sail our boat there from Florida every other year or so. Usually stay the winter.

My advice, don't barge in on local terf. That's how you get shot and stuff. Be considerate and blend in. Dress like you have no money and you won't be targeted. You can eat for five bucks a day there if you stick with the local stands. Good healthy local food. Seek out the expat bars and make some quick friends. Surrounding towns are great too. And you can probably find a cute little Mexican chick too with no probs.
