We had a 4.2 quake this morning about 6 hours after the Alaska 7.5 quake.

sounds like it might well be due to fracking after all then. but why in the middle of the night sometimes? or could the phenomenon be an after effect rather than sth occuring during their fracking? ...just wondering quietly....

I'm in the East Tennessee area & a lot of reports are coming in about the "loud booms." There were two tonight that were heard around about a 75 mile radius around southwest VA and northeast TN. The first one was around 9pm and the second about 45-60 minutes later. So far they've said it could be sonic booms or a military training exercise. Really? Military training exercises at night? Over a residential area? Okay. Sure.

Anyway, thought I'd share!

The Manhattan Project cost billions of dollars, more than 7% of the GDP. It was a tremendous expense, and relatively speaking one of the most expensive single efforts in the history of America.

The Manhattan project involved more than 400,000 people, and several of the largest construction projects in the history of mankind. if you think a Pyramid is massive, go see what they built in East TN for Uranium refining.

Who saw that massive drain of dollars? Who saw the missing half-million people, secretly working at a job whose purpose was totally unknown?

Look folks, a great galloping boat-load of money has been sapped from the American economy in the last five years. The Banks and mortgage industry is a scapegoat, and maybe the right one, but what if it's actually SOMETHING ELSE?

Look at the Manhattan Project, and you will see that there is no effort too big to keep secret. What if these booms, underground rumblings, and peculiar behavior on the part of the government (like the areas in CO and NM which are full of literally thousands of military personnel working at God-knows-what) are part of something much, much bigger?

Don't expect anyone to tell you.

People are being very naive to believe that the "gun thing" is what matters . . . there is so much more.

I beleive the year was 2008, and it was winter. I lived in Southwest Ohio. My family and I were sitting at the dinner table when all of a sudden there was a loud boom. Sounded and felt as if it were under us. Shook the house, and the lights flickered.

We checked the basement, we had fuel oil and natural reaction was to make sure it hadnt literally come from the basement. Everything was fine, so we checked neighbors. They had heard / felt it also, but they hadnt a clue as to what it was caused by.

So, I returned home and called local police to report it. (Not a common place for seismic activity). They informed me Alot of people were reporting the same, and that it was a "Frost Quake". Ive never experienced anything like it. Had lived in same general area all my life.

Always makes me wonder when I see these threads....

Yeah because exercises caused booms in different states around the same time.
That excuse is as lame as fireworks causing all the birds falling dead from the sky.

I'm in AZ and I heard/felt rumbling of some sort about an hour ago. Thought something was exploding outside or maybe fireworks? But the house was vibrating... Effing weird.

I heard an odd rumble last night in the Northeast... Definitely didn't sound like thunder and there was no rain or precipitation in this area....

There is a new oil derrick on Highway 290 between Ledbetter and Carmine, Texas. I was near this area on 290 last week, and I felt/heard a concussive boom. It sure seems like it could be fracking.

Around 10pm tonight it felt like something hit the outside of the house and a loud boom here in KS.

The dog jumped up out of a dead sleep and started barking. I looked outside but didn't find anything.

Heard and felt a loud boom Friday afternoon in MA on the East Coast. My Dad and I both heard it and felt it. His explanation was that ice melting off one of the roofs had fallen on the roof of the room we were in. It didn't sound or feel that way at all. I still don't know what it was. I even thought it might be a sonic boom because the jets from the nearby AFB were very active that afternoon but an hour or so later after that, a jet went supersonic and the boom was very different.

Aliens are preparing us for the real deal soon?

I live in the area, and many of my friends are reporting hearing these booms. I heard them last year as well. The only thing I can compare them to is a huge artillery piece being fired in the distance.

the booms are just high speed underground
tunnel trains reaching Mach 1 and breaking
the sound barrier. Those are underground
sonic booms which resonate upward by
audio waves.

I'm about a 2 hour drive away from that area in TN. I didn't hear or feel anything.

just that odd and annoying hum/rumble that I've heard for the past 6 years.

it sounds like a idling diesel engine off in the distance.
