I am guessing you never took a political science class before. The Bill of Rights is actually not meant for the people, in all actuality it is for the states. Over time people tended to assume or maybe their viewpoints changed on how the Bill of Rights was meant to be. They started to claim that they were for the people, not for the states. Now let me clear some air here and say that I agree that people should be able to bear guns, but I think that people forget there has to be some way of stopping people who have too many issues where they cannot control themselves or have split personalities should be stopped from owning guns. There should also be background checks of people who have criminal records that have a history of violent tendencies such as domestic disputes that were known to cause injury.
