i also, am intrigued by this question.
the only plausible answer i have ever received is, that god always has, and always will exist.
unfortunately that opens the door to numerous other questions.
for instance, what in the world could he possibly be doing during the eternity before creation, especially if the earth is only 6000 years old.
an eternity of just 'being" is too hard for me to grasp.
