I don't know much on this case, but like most folk - I have this same question... Here's what I've pieced together:

1.) The car in front of the school - the infamous black Honda - actually was Lanza's car... Not Rodia's... despite the confusion.

1a.) Most of the internest researcher/blogger guys think it belongs to Rodia because of the emergency audio... Apparently he was across town in a beige car getting pulled over by the cops at that same time, and the call was from that - it just happened to coincide with the time of the school incident... He gave an interview about it, and the cops reportedly verified that to the reporter... Possible, at least.

2.) So, if her car was used to get to the school it would be natural to run the plate and go to the house immediately to close out that lead and scope the problem. That could have happened very soon after they arrived at the school - via radio to a local cop.

2.a.) They find a dead woman at the dead woman's house and make the tentative ID based on that... The woman's car at the scene of a shooting, dead woman at that address.

Anyways - that's my take on possibly why they knew who she was so quickly...

If he was on the autistic spectrum and ever target practiced, then wearing of the ear plugs would be part of the whole ritual of shooting a gun.

Just like if you are a good citizen, you most likely jump in your car and put on your seat belt without even thinking about it. Its part of the routine and if you forget the seat belt you may actually sit there wondering why you feel like something is wrong and won't pull out of the drive.


Autistic spectrum people are more aware of the 'rituals' of life, thus putting the ear plugs in for 5 minutes before death would be as necessary as putting them in for target practice.
