There is a Mormon prophecy attributed to Joseph Smith, of a 'grand sign', or the 'harbinger of the coming of the Son of Man', that would signal the imminent (how close, ??) return of Jesus Christ. This sign would be seen by 'all flesh' (everyone on the earth) and it would be dismissed by many as a "planet, a comet" and Joseph Smith himself said that "many would suppose it to be two great comets colliding together" and would start out small in the heavens and gradually grow larger until it would be easily seen by all on the earth.”

Couple this with the following Mormon prophecy:

"Repent of your sins that ye not allow murderous combinations, which are most abominable and wicked above all, in the sight of God, get above you, which are built up to get power and gain. For these are they who seeketh to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries; and it bringeth to pass the destruction of all people, for it is built up by the devil, who is the father of all lies. When ye shall see these things (secret combinations) come among you, ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation."

The above is a passage from the Book of Mormon (I am a casual member trying to find my way back, I can't quote line and verse), I believe in the book of Moroni. I am a Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Jesus Christ is my savior and Lord. I worship the almighty God, and do what I can to be in the proper spirit to receive peace and guidance from the Lord through the Holy Spirit.

And one last Mormon prophecy for your consideration:

"Devaluation of the U.S. dollar will lead to its collapse. This will lead to starvation and demonstrations. Agents of 'secret combinations' will ensure these demonstrations turn into riots. Federalized police will fire on crowds and this event will cause average citizens to riot in most major American cities. Martial law will be declared and the Federal government will ATTEMPT to outlaw private ownership of firearms. This will be the catalyst that will signal the beginning of the 2nd American Civil War, except the sides will not be North vs. South but those states in favor of a Constitutional government vs. an out of control Federal government."

"During this time of internal strife, Russia will seize the opportunity, and will attack the U.S. mainland, hitting many major cities with nuclear weapons. A literal, physical invasion of the U.S. will begin immediately afterward, with possible elements of Chinese involvement."

Suddenly those "kooky" Mormon prophecies don't seem that kooky.....do they?
