I posit that even the most enlightened sage would not be able to avoid suffering in an inescapable torturous environment.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26851286 That's why it's a symptom of the human condition...I think things like suffering are necessary...we were created to experience suffering (among a range of other emotions etc)...we were also given the tools to bypass the necessity for it as well...we choose to use them...or not. The only bypass would be suicide Suicide is not a bypass for suffering...it's a choice to end an experience that contains a symptom called suffering that has many ways to bypass or cope with it... SO again, how would one bypass suffering in an inescapable torturous environment?
