social collapse? It seems we hear a great deal from the right to bear arms people and the Freepers, but what does everyone else think needs to change?

Abe Lincoln created money called the Green Back.

The only problem with the greenback was that it was easy to counterfeit.

A few other Presidents understood that a private bank for generating money was a bad idea. Each time they were pretty much brought down by private bankers who worked real hard to upset the new currency.

Today we have the technology to make near counterfeit-less currency, we also have the technology needed to actually economize our resources.

The Free Capitalist system is a broken system, it doesn't really work. A Regulated Capitalist System is what we need, one with checks and balances and built in governors to how much money is created, how that money is spent and how the distribution of wealth is based on how much real goods (not currency, but stuff like metals, food, wood, etc).

*considerate. Places like this. Places not exactly like this but a bit like this, to openly air grievances. Just make the gub'ment listen a little. To the saner postings. Wherever they are.

I agree the current system is built on debt, with interest accruing to the select few. It's a house of cards that has no viability. The ones with all of the capital don't care and owe no allegience to any country. Whatever happens, they will be one step ahead - manipulating the financial markets and governments to their own ends. It's like a global pyramid scheme.

You have to liquidate the debt if you want to keep the central bank. That means cut spending. They are not going to do that so there will never be a resolution to fixing the economy. Just a high expectation to the term recession.

If the government was not taking 30% of everything that we earned, which is being generous, we would have A HELL OF A ton more money to put into what WE want instead of what the government wants. They make an excuse to take this large sum of money because of their debt, which is signed to the federal reserve. So the central bank aka the federal reserve is dependent on the government's power structure to increase their power and wealth over the people in the world.

This drastically increases the gap between the wealthiest and the middle class. You see how big of a gap their is today? It's HUGE.

The gap also continues to increase as a result of government's refusal or inability (blocked by Congress) to adequately tax wealthy corporations or impose significant tax penalties for exporting jobs out of the country. As a result the number of well paid jobs are shrinking and the middle class is being eroded. Helping small business looks good, but no matter how much tax help is provided to small business, the shrinking customer base will ultimately result in an increasing number of small business failures.

Re: Are there any non-Yosemite Sam, literate people out there with considered opinions on how to bring society back from the brink of economic and
The answer is to not have either. Whomever/whoever produced the world we live in did not design it to be ran by an economy nor "society." We were given everything we needed when we were born into this world. There are millions of species of plants and animals along with varying land structures put in nature to help us survive. We are not using most of what was put here for us to use, this creates it's own world of problems that we have produced. The problem with any "economy" is that it was never meant to be.

Common sense aquisition, utilisation, and allocation of resources will solve most economic ills. Bear in mind, resources covers a hell of a lot of territory and are not just animal, vegetable, or mineral.

These are things that you need to survive. Once you are born on this earth, these things should automatically be yours. Money should come second. Money should be used to purchase things you want, not need. Everbody, once they are born, should automatically inherit the basic needs for survival. We should work for things we want like toys, a car, a bigger house but we should not work for things that are a necassity.

If you decide you have no need or desire for luxury items or toys, you should be able to live without the need to take up a job to pay taxes on your land so you aren't left homeless. You should be able to live off the land if you desire with no interference from the government.

You don't have to tax these corporations if you give them competition. No one can grow to that level any more (unless they dominate a new market), because of the amount of regulations and taxes required. This gives only the people who have grown wealthy before the big government was established to keep power over their market. It's not a bad thing to be wealthy. It's a bad thing to use that power of wealth to commit crimes. Crimes that can not be overruled by wealth. Crimes such as paying politicians and judges off.

We need our republic back, where justice is served and the people choose which product they want with their own money. This is the best regulation of all; the consumer. If you think we have a free market economy at the moment... well you are just crazy.

Squatters? What squatters? And why aren't they squatting on their own land?
