When I and all of my friends were having our babies in the late '90s and early 2000, their doctors put them all on prozac if they complained of the slightest emotional imbalance (which almost always occurs when a woman's body is adjusting postnatal). Every one of my friends is STILL taking this drug and those that have tried to get off have complained of suicidal thoughts and irrational tendancies so they go right back on. Something is just not right with a drug that makes you want to kill yourself when you stop taking it! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31324821 Seriously. The long term effects of SSRI's aren't known. They could be the most neuro-toxic drugs ever invented... we just don't know. They might cause brain adaptations that are unpredictable. The antipsychotics are another example... of course, we know full well how bad they are for us. Quoting: pi All drugs can be bad, just a few years ago they discovered that tylenol can permently damage livers and not to go over a certain dose per day. You can say tha about any drug. Quoting: CeeLite Got a question for you, since you brought that up... Guess what most deaths from narcotic painkillers (Lortab, Percocet, Tylenol 4 etc.) are caused by in the USA? I'll give you a hint... it ain't the narcotic killing them.
