The Wheel of Time ends tonight at midnight!
Anyone else excited to finish a series that has been ongoing for over 2 decades?
There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Really hard to sum up with a few paragraphs. 14 books to the complete series lol, but i'll give it a try.

A young man finds out that he has the power to save the world from the ultimate evil aka the Dark One, but to use the power he has it'll drive him mad.

It's actually alot bigger than that, and goes into the manuvering of nations. But if you liked tolken you'd love this.

Not quite as bad as all that. I started my re-read back in June, and finished the second to last book today. going to try and grab the last one tomorrow when the book store opens.

I've also lost about a half dozen of them lending them out over the years, or re-reading too many times and having them fall apart.

so finding all the ones i'm missing is adding to the weight of effort.

I started reading it on the beach on my Honeymoon.

Now my son is reading it.

I pre-orderd the book, waiting for the Amazon box.

After the author died I was concerned I would never get closure. The new author is excellent. The story is worth reading.

Briefest plot summary (no spoilers):

Farm boy does good.

If you like the fantasy genera, give it a read.
peace
THREE LAWS OF TYRANNY
(Could be read as "Three Laws of Bullying" ? )

Tyranny Law #1:
"Any power that can be abused will be abused."

Tyranny Law #2:
"Abuse always expands to fill the limits of resistance to it."

Tyranny Law #3:
"If people don't resist the abuses of others, they will have no one to resist the abuses of themselves, and tyranny will prevail."

There are some good plot summaries on the net if you want to avoid a reread, but have the story fresh before the last book.

I rarely get time to read anymore but I will find the time for the last battle. I'm on the second to last book.

I warned my husband (just married) that I won't be accomplishing much until I finish the books. LoL. I've waited too long.

If you like Lord of the Rings you'll love these books. The scope of this story is much larger.

I started this series my junior yr in H.S. ( 1999) and im still not done. It's incredibly long or im just an incredibly slow reader. i've read too much stuff in between and had long stretches of not reading anything. it's the best fantasy series in my opinion.

WOT should have a series on HBO not that other fantasy series i won't mention.

I have wondered how I would feel when I turn the last page and close the book. I started the series young too and the story has always stuck with me - more than any other.

I have been stingey with them and never loaned them out. The collection waits for it's companions.

It's been a good ride.

I agree. Sanderson said that Jordan wrote the final scene, and it appears in the book just as he wrote it. So I'm not too worried about the end, just the events leading up to the end.

When you consider that these last 3 books were supposed to be one book the size of 3 he did a fair job of it, still I agree that it was a little disconcerting seeing some time hops, especially when it came to Tam.
