The answer lies in the orientation of the Sun , Earth, galactic plane and galactic center, and the direction the Earth and Sun is moving through the increasing mass of plasma as approach the precise galactic plane.. I am NOT yet ready to provide specifics and explanations, but if I were you I would scrap that idea.

well, in my opinion It takes 1 week to make a rotation, and sunspots usually break down every two weeks... so I think your kinda wrong.

by my reckoning, that ting is about 80-90% the size of the spot that caused Carrington. a very rough estimation. anyone agree?

look at all the sun spots in between the 2 red lines....watch them over time...
this link will so today and the last 7 days.
only the sun spot in between the line could be earth effective.
i have seen spots show big you can see them without a scope. they did not flare or pop off any CME's

still nothing seems to have changed from the sun spots going quiet as they rotate around becoming earth facing.

it would be nice if this does change.

Its too hard to compare being there isn't really any data that is not speculative... Being it was 1859 and all...

Your an idiot, trust me I know because I am one also, but I do know CME's flares, whatever, are very important, and the lack of activity from the sun is not good in the long term.

That 1654 sunspot sure is freaking big

There were several much larger and magnetically complex sunspots during the last solar maximum and this one will not erupt while geo effective,

So its likely to either be in 1 of two fazes...

1. Growing and becoming more problematic...
2. breaking down...

Being that the farside activity was very low last week I assume option 1 is more plausible...

well that would be breaking a pattern of earth facing decay which has been going on for months now.

That all depends on the magnetosphere's integrity...

Sunspots this cycle seem to be more geo effective in my opinion, breaching our atmosphere quite chaotically this cycle.

Again on the 5th there was already activity in this region. Its a two sided coin. I assume we wait to see what happens...

This region may or may not still be active when it becomes earth facing...
