Brief explanation for those who don't know what they're reading? Quoting: aliensbro The X-Ray activity from the Sun (Which goes out in all directions, not just towards Earth) is holding steady at a medium level. Usually it flares up to C and then falls back down. The higher that line goes the more energy our Sin puts into Xrays it sends out to space and us. I am not quite sure of the effects of a very hard X-Ray flare, but our atmosphere and electromagnetic fields protect us. No need to worry about getting cancer (faster) unless you're a cosmonaut, or flying at a high altitude on board a plane. Considering the size of that scale, it's not linear. A C3 is what, ten times more energetic then a C2 and the largest I've seen was an X25 or something. And we are all still here. (PS! I just felt a strange feeling, like a power surge / current running through my body. Might be unshielded cables, or the sun crackled my way again ;) ) Considering this developing sunspot situation. I am starting to get worried about those two large spots. They could have some really damaging potential in a while. I should prepare and stock up on water and canned goods. Luckily such food is cheap in Russia. The skies have been cleared so it's just lean back and enjoy a good Auroral show I guess, always wanted to see the Northern Lights.
