Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11538854 In the aftermath of Sandy Hook, the Journal News in upstate New York published a map with the addressees of all gun permit holders in Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam. The nation was rightly outraged at this violation of basic privacy, and the threat implicit in the publication. Just in case that was too subtle, Gawker has now published a complete list of every licensed gun owner in New York City. The headline? “Here Is a List of All the Assholes Who Own Guns in New York City.” Writes the author, John Cook: Below is a 446-page list of every licensed gun owner in New York City. I obtained it from the NYPD two-and-a-half years ago via a Freedom of Information Law request. Because the NYPD is more interested in raping and/oreating ladies and spying on Muslims than it is in honoring public records law, the list contains only the names, and not the addresses, of the licensees… [link to www.breitbart.com] Who's going to be the first to publish the entire list of the staff that work at this rag? That should make all the current and retired police, corrections, and security personnel very happy. |

I'm thinking that we, as Parents should start asking some pointed questions of the Parents that our children spend time with, I mean, If those Parents are going to fill my kids heads with propaganda about guns and that we need to 'do away' with the second, or any amendment for that matter, I don't want them around my children. AND, seeing as how a lot of teachers are liberal leaning, then maybe they shouldn't be teaching at all. Seriously, if they are, in their position of Authority over our children, filling their minds with why we need to 'get rid of guns', instead of teaching them how important Our Constitution is, then they, or any adult in any positions of authority over children, should not be allowed to posses that position. Turn about really is fair play, so, if these folks wish to state that they 'need' to know who has guns at the houses of where their children play, then I have every reason to also ask about their political leanings, especially since they do not posses the equipment, nor the skills, to protect my child while they are visiting. |

Should owners of nice cars start worrying about some whacko writing down their license plate numbers and tracking them to their homes in the middle of the night? Can't wait to hear Mr. Worley on this one: "The people have as much of a right to know who owns a Mercedes C300 in their communities as C300 owners have to own their expensive vehicles." How would that go over with the average law-abiding luxury car owner? Seriously, what is next? There is already a war against the rich, what if some rag publishes the list above? In the early 1980s, The Wall Street Journal successfully sued New York City for access to firearms records. In finding for the newspaper, the state’s highest court rejected arguments that publication of the information could endanger gun owners. “There is no indication that the publication led to any harm or jeopardy,” Robert Freeman, executive director of the state Committee on Open Government, recently told the Poughkeepsie Journal. “I don’t think there is anything pejorative about (being named on a gun-permit list).” Robert Freeman, executive director of the state Committee on Open Government - Idiot in favor of publishing the addresses [link to www.lohud.com] They can all go to hell. |
