The police and even the military will still be using them, our military uses JHP against terrorist’s overseas still. But the general manufacturing of them will not be legal if there is a “chance” at all that they will be exported and involved in any conflict. That means “theoretical chance” there by limiting manufacturing to a very few select company’s. This come down to they will have to tag every bullet with a serial number. Every new gun would also be required to micro stamp also. Cali already passed the legislation but it is on hold. They tried to make it federal law in 2008, it failed to pass.

This is the thing with the ICC, if we ratify it, manufacturers would be in trouble for any weapons or ammunition involved in any conflict anywhere in the world. Giving the ICC the right to prosecute private arms manufactures if their products show up in conflicts internal or international, making it not worth it to produce the products.

Example; If I make a hollow point bullet and it is used in even a civil war in a third world country ,I would be responsible as the manufacturer for losing control of the said product and prosecuted for supplying the product.

Here is the official link from when they tried in 2008 to pass micro-stamping, and they will try again this year to introduce this legislation.

The debate about guns is more about the phrase "we the people". Is the US still run by the citizens in its union or is it run by elitist who somehow stole it right under our noses. If it is still run by the people for the people, then gun rights should be undeniable as well as the ability to form a militia if needed. If we no longer run our country then you will see gun laws go in effect and more rights taking away. The next few years will show us alot about the direction of the country. If we indeed lost control of the country and no longer have a right to defend it against foreign and domestic threats then we are faced with the decision of how to respond. Do we become complete sheep to the globalist, or do we realize that there is power in numbers and without the people the globalists are nothing. I guess time will tell.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11922974

This is a great point and as far as I have been educated, yes, the way this nation was set up and the way it should be! But here is an interesting question.

Most of the men I run into and all of the ladies, (I am not sexist, I swear) know very little to nothing of what their "elected" official do, or even who the heck they even are! The only issues that seem to matter to ANY of the people I deal with are abortion, gay rights/marriage, and what kind of wireless crap they can buy and stick in their kid's hands. I am a freak because I can discuss things I saw on C-Span or on the websites of the US Congress or Senate!

Now, if a majority of the people in any given country stop giving a fuck or taking the time to give a shit on how the country is run, can it not be argued that these people are no longer FIT to have a say in how their country is run? Yes, I know your average GLP'er is far more educated, involved and informed than clowns like this, but if the vast majority are this damned STUPID and lazy, do they even DESERVE a voice? Interested in what you have to say.
 Quoting: Black Knight

With respect Black Knight, I believe what you are saying is dangerous. You are trampling on the 1st amendment rights of those your perceive as less than...etc. and that is elitist and is just another path to death camps.

We are victims of very sophisticate soft propaganda. Our society has become apathetic and dehumanized. I used to wonder why all the liquor bill boards were in the poor neighborhoods, they and we are victims of some serious evil stuff.

peace
 Quoting: allisaTX

No doubt, and I could never really believe that humans, no matter how apathetic or outright stupid, should ever be hearded or otherwise treated like cattle. However, I wonder whether or not the government actually has come to view us in this matter because it sure looks like they do.

Watching the Ed Show now on MSnbc. There is a supposed first grade teacher being interviewed who is supposedly "for" armed teachers.

Her grammar is poor and she seems to be almost mentally deficient.

Ed's question is "Shouldn't the parents have a right to know if teacher has a gun"

hmmm....

She replies after much dull eyed searching " Well ah no, they don't because etc. etc, etc"

The game plan became a little clearer to me just now. This is just my opinion.koolaid flavor "dumb" teachers wanting to carry guns just waiting to lose their fragile minds and shoot your kids.

I have not watched MSM for a long time now. I can see how they have changed their strategy. It is very important to watch MSM media.

Currently they are bombarding us with "faces" and photos "with hidden legs" (Valerie Jarrett's) and "Michelle Bachmann is now a Conspiracy Theorist"...

It appears to be something like the card game tricks I could never quite catch on to as a kid....my brother always could, but I was a little slower....

Do we even have a chance?

Won’t happen, teachers won’t flip out. There will be more than one armed teacher.

My father used to take his rifle to school every day just like the rest of the school, kept it loaded in his locker. They would go squirrel hunting, and no one shot anyone. I remember in my English class back in the day we were reading “Shane” & the teacher pulls out a 357 to explain how Shane was riding off to die in the end because people do not live epically back then after being shot with a gun like that. Passed the gun around the class even.

Harold Texas already has had teachers carrying and has since 2007!

Ohio state university just today launched a program to train professors to carry.

Town in Illinois where it is a law that you must own a gun as the head of a house hold! No one shot since the law went in to effect over 30 years ago, the crime was terrible before the law, and crime rate dropped 90% after the law. Their crime rate is actually lower than what it was in 1981 now.

[link to www.wnd.com]

Kennesaw George passed the same law in 82 , you must own a gun, 89% drop in crime compared the 10% state wide drop in the same time period.

Town in Utah same thing…must own a gun.

The reason people shoot up schools or theaters is because they know no one is armed, they don’t go to Wal-Mart or the police station to pick a fight because they know someone will shoot back right away.

When people are mutually armed and trained nothing happens, you understand once you get trained it only takes one shot. You realize and respect how the real world is because it is nothing like the movies.

I acutely could have posted this 9 months ago, but no one would have accepted the concept. In-fact quite a few very good people on this site thought I was a bit nuts at the time for the first warning thread I will link. I can’t blame them; unfortunately I was spot on with the first thread and way ahead of the game.

I weighed very hard about posting this; this is why I memorized treaties and international laws for ten hours before posting this. Then I decided it was better to tell you all way before they attempt to make it happen.

I watch very little news but I filter news very well. When I hear a story I won’t read it instead I read the press release the news writer read to write his story. Always go to the source, leave out the snake oil sales men.

Before the government even started stockpiling hollow points by the millions I knew this was coming.

This is only step 2 of the three part plan…

Not bad, I understand that all.

The issue is bigger than just the US, around 40% of ammunition produced is exported there by putting manufactures in to international law. This is why the ICC and the ATT must never be ratified.

On the domestic issue about bullets read this thread, I Put a lot of good info in there. Thread: Is Obama Considering An Ammo Ban or Severe Regulation?!?!? (Page 3)

Look at the health care bill, it’s a spending bill that started in the senate, they do not care about constitutional legality

UPDATE

UN arms trade treaty passed.

The US still has to ratify this, in theory it should not pass the 2/3 majority for ratification.

But this is the proverbial “line” in the sand.

I’ll go read the full text soon, yell if any of you find a direct link to the full text please. I am waiting for it to be released.

They claim they pulled ammunition from the treaty!! This is a huge deal if 100% true, as I said though I would like to read it for myself and not take the word of a press release.

No matter what we never want to sign this even with ammunition left out of the treaty. It will bind you forever, one day when we need to help out allies like we did before the U.S. got involved in WWII we will find out it is illegal, never tie your own hands for unforeseen circumstances.

I still feel without the full text from what is being said they can get us on technical issues with ammunition still.

I’ll update if needed.

Snip; The treaty prohibits states that ratify it from transferring conventional weapons if they violate arms embargoes or if they promote acts of genocide, crimes against humanity or war crimes. It also prohibits the export of conventional arms if they could be used in attacks on civilians or civilian buildings such as schools and hospitals.

In considering whether to authorize the export of arms, the treaty says a country must evaluate whether the weapon would be used to violate international human rights or humanitarian laws or be used by terrorists or organized crime. Hollow point ammo is a war crime. They must also determine whether the weapons transfer would contribute to or undermine peace and security.

The treaty also requires parties to the treaty to take measures to prevent the diversion of conventional weapons to the illicit market.

Ammunition was been a key issue in negotiations, with some countries pressing for the same controls on ammunition sales as arms, but the U.S. and others opposed such tough restrictions.

The final text calls for each country that ratifies the treaty to establish regulations for the export of ammunition "fired, launched or delivered" by the weapons covered by the convention.
