Let me teach you how to love a grapefruit
Many people are living with the misconception that grapefruit is bitter.

A grapefruit is in fact so sweet, that only bitterness can envelop it. Zen.

Let me explain myself. Whenever you eat a grapefruit, peel it in such a way as to leave no skin on the pulp. You must peel off the thin layer of each segment. It can be a tedious process unless you have good knife skills. Fear not. A grapefruit is so delicious, that only careful attention to detail can be used to unlock its secrets.

Put my theory to the test, especially if you feel grapefruit is bitter. Buy red grapefruit and go on a journey.

I used to think grapefruits were to be cut in half, sectioned, and sprinkled with sugar.

Alternatively you can cut in half, like lemons, and scoop the flesh out with a knife. I think it is easier this way.
I too love grapefruit. A half to start the day, other half into the blender with other fruit, whatever else i have, and drink as a juice (pulp included)
during the day.

Re: Let me teach you how to love a grapefruit
If you're on blood pressure meds, you can't eat/drink grapefruit. I always thought that was so weird . . .

It turns out that grapefruit juice can directly or indirectly interact in important ways with a number of medications. This is especially important since grapefruit juice is consumed by approximately one fifth of Americans for breakfast -- a time of the day when medications are also commonly taken.

Grapefruit juice blocks a special enzyme in the wall of the intestine that prevents many drugs from being absorbed into the body. When that enzyme is blocked, it is easier for those medications to pass from the gut into the body, raising the blood levels of these drugs. Abnormally high levels of some drugs can be dangerous and can lead to toxic side effects

I was actually just reading about this last week. In my opinion, nature contains all the medication our bodies we need. There is no need for blood pressure medication so long as people take some care as to what they put in their bodies. It really all boils down to choice, however, thanks for posting this, it's important for people to know. : )

Grapefruit Is Disgusting

Why you shouldn’t give it to your loved ones as a holiday gift. Or to anyone, ever.

A bit over the top, but then again it's an evil fruit!
