I've only ever had life insurance through an employer, but is this question asked on life insurance applications? If it doesn't work for them getting this information through our medical record, it'll be required to get life insurance if it isn't already.

^^this^^ is consistant with what I've been hearing from other people as well. Not just ER visits....but referrals to specialists, in-home health assistants, and even in long-term doctor/patient relationships.

Obama care requires the doctor to ask if you have guns, but it also says that the answer must not be recorded. If you trust the government, go ahead and tell them about your guns, otherwise be vague, or dodgy. The doctor can't make you answer, but they have to prove that they asked the question. I will never tell them, and my response is "I object to giving my personal information to the government, and I believe this is unconstitutional and irrelevant". I have already asked one doctor if she knew that it was illegal to record hose answers. She said she had not heard that, but she had never made anybody answer anyway. She just mentioned it and filled out the chart with "discussed guns in house'. Until yesterday, I don't think anybody knew that the answer couldn't be recorded, but I intend to tell everyone I talk to. The feds never told the doctors, so most of them are probably breaking the law now.

Still we have shills that don't believe it can happen in America.

I don't care what anyone says. They are counting on you being taken off guard if asked this question. Maybe you never will be asked, but watch the news. What is the HOT topic of the day? It is SMART to be prepared to address the hot topic as it relates to you. Do NOT be taken off guard. Know in advance what you will say to this and any other intrusive questions that you know our "Dear Leader" is going after.

What if they decided that people who took certain medications could no longer own guns? I've a lot more on that idea, but that's for later. Bottom line, they could target/hype the drugs possible side effects as the reason why a person on those meds can't be trusted to own a gun. They could do it with any kind of drug, not just for mental illness. Just a thought.

look they claim the Constitution is a simple straight forth document.. I beg (not brag) to differ...Cause I'm still not clear on what a 'natural born citizen' is..and doubt any one else does either.. and it was never who is a citizen or not, it was about who could/should legally be aloud to hold office of president of this country.

And the other night it hit me..Cause they (founding fathers) threw in these words :regulated Militia/free State = right of the people all under one blanket Amendment it can very well be claimed to be interpreted as to 'mean' that a state=people keeps a local police/national guard... so forth an so on.. the right of the people to 'bear arms' has/is already covered! Makes me sick.. but understand it all depends on who interpreting it..

My textbook response is "my child lives in a VERY safe home", though I do understand that answer does not directly address the question, and they may likely continue the hounding.

Requiring me to lie means I must violate my religion - though we know "they" no longer regard any of that with validity.

While going through triage before seeing the doctor, I was asked at the end of the exam, three questions: 1. Did I feel stressed? 2. Did I feel threatened? 3. Did I feel like doing harm to someone?

The nurse then informed me that if I had answered yes to any of the questions I would have lost my concealed carry permit as it would have gone into my medical records and the VA would have reported it to Homeland Security.



Looks like they are going after the vets first. Other gun people like retired law enforcement will probably be next. Then when they go after the civilians, what argument will they have?

The Supreme Court defined it again not too long ago. It is an individual right to bear arms, which shall not be infringed.

'Well regulated' doesn't mean somebody standing over them telling them what to do. In the time frame it was written, it meant 'well supplied' to meet fighting standards as necessary. They had the same portable arms (not necessarily cannons) as regular military.

As far as the militia goes, it applied to every man between certain ages--all of them, everybody--not just a police force.

It will probably be a mandatory question on every form we fill out pretty soon. Or worse.

"Sorry about your door. Hey, since you're here, do you own any firearms?"

The questions the drs ask our children have gotten increasingly invasive. My children always lied if a question came up that they knew would sound bad. I remember when the dr asked my son if he gets a good night sleep but he had stayed up playing video games and when they asked my daughter if she ate a good breakfast (she hates breakfast) they both knew to say yes. My kids know that if they ever feel like they are in danger from me or my husband that they should definitely seek help but otherwise we are a team and it is always us first.
