He has been my doctor for several years. He did not ask me if I owned a gun or any other questions not relevant to the reason for my visit to him. I could not even imagine him asking me such a question. He usually asks ME what I would like for him to do. I would like to know please: When did this start? Who is requiring doctors to obtain this gun info from patients? Who holding the doctor's licenses over their heads if they do not get the gun ownership info? Thank you. |

Quoting: Lady Jane Smith The ER nurse also asked questions about guns to which I replied, "no". I do not think it is anybody's business if I own firearms. She then went on to ask me if I was being threatened at home & if I could protect myself -- WTF??? I answered no on the threat question & on the one about defending myself I just gave her a goofy look -- I was still in my dobok & belt with 3 gold slashes emblazoned upon it -- duh! I could have understood if I came in wearing street clothes with black eyes, broken nose, bruised ribs, etc., but the questions are very intrusive & it was obvious I had the FLU! We are living under such a controlled situation, the government sees no reason to limit what can be imposed on the people. No real push back have they encountered, so nothing is off limits. The nurse thought perhaps you were dumb enough to be tricked into the answer she was after. Good for you to see thru her trickery. I don't even tell them if I wear seat belts or not, it's bullshit. Yes it seems they were looking for an inconsistency in your answer. Someone without your self-defense cred would have to admit they can only lock their door and do no more than that. Good to be aware of this, thanks. |

Desert Fox (OP) User ID: 8786935 United States 01/10/2013 09:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My cousin sent me this e-mail. Quoting: Desert Fox Do you have a gun in the house? THIS IS GOOD TO KNOW! When I had my gangrene gallbladder taken out and spent 10 days in the hospital. I had home nurse visits for two weeks and was asked if I had guns in the house. I respond that if I did I would not tell them. So the below has some merit. FYI, I am passing this along... there are comments from two other people that have also been asked if they keep guns in the house. The nurse just kinda slipped it in along with all the other regular questions. I told her I refused to answer because it was against the law to ask. Everyone, whether you have guns or not, should give a neutral answer so they have no idea who does and who doesn't. My doctor asked me if I had guns in my house and also if any were loaded. I, of course, answered yes to both questions. Then he asked why I kept a loaded gun close to my bed. I answered that my son, who is a certified gun instructor and also works for Homeland Security, advised me that an unloaded, locked up gun is no protection against criminal attack. The Government now requires these questions be asked of people on Medicare, and probably everyone else. Just passing this along for your information: I had to visit a doctor other than my regular doctor when my doctor was on vacation.. One of the questions on the form I had to fill out was: Do you have any guns in your house?? My answer was None of your damn business!! So it is out there! It is either an insurance issue or government intervention. Either way, it is out there and the second the government gets into your medical records (as they want to under Obamacare) it will become a major issue and will ultimately result in lock and load!! Please pass this on to all the other retired guys and gun owners... Thanks, from a Vietnam Vet and retired Police Officer: I had a doctors appointment at the local VA clinic yesterday and found out something very interesting that I would like to pass along. While going through triage before seeing the doctor, I was asked at the end of the exam, three questions: 1. Did I feel stressed? 2. Did I feel threatened? 3. Did I feel like doing harm to someone? The nurse then informed me that if I had answered yes to any of the questions I would have lost my concealed carry permit as it would have gone into my medical records and the VA would have reported it to Homeland Security. Looks like they are going after the vets first. Other gun people like retired law enforcement will probably be next. Then when they go after the civilians, what argument will they have? Be forewarned and be aware. The Obama administration has gone on record as considering veterans and gun owners potential terrorists. Whether you are a gun owner, veteran or not, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED ! If you know veterans and gun owners, please pass this on to them. Be very cautious about what you say and to whom. They are coming for us, so unless you're an ostrich, do not stick your head in the sand...... For further exposure. :TOMABANEFOX: It's more humane this way ya know, or burn on totem pole. (For these calls) When the telemarketer calls and asks to speak with "Mr. Smith", I just say, "Yes, one moment, I will get him for you.." I then promptly lay the phone down next to my radio tuned and turned on to the Chinese station. And then I sit back and laugh and laugh. Silently, of course. I pray for these calls, daily. Laughter is the best medicine. that's the ticket...... :) or if you have friends over, and you already had a few, put on a fake foriegn accent in gibberish like you are asking questions.. must cost the big corps a fair bit with shit like that... always leave the phone up (unless you need it), because their PABX will take time to reset.. and huge loss of revenue if we all do it.... always cracks me up and everyone knows what i am up to here.... GRIN.... in fact my current monika is probably me getting up to it by the looks.... mahahahah genius,my mate and me just outta loony bin,she had depression, got call tyring to sell her mobile contract,we were all pissing ourselves, shes a counsellor, and kept him in circles for half an hour, saying "i'm too depressed" he'd reply"know what'l make you feel better?a new mobile""etcetc lol :TOMABANEFOX: It's more humane this way ya know, or burn on totem pole. Choice is yours. |

Quoting: Anti Vortex I don't tell them every surgery I had at age 2 (can't remember anyway) or detail every time I ended up in the ER needing a few stitches. I don't even admit to being a smoker. Fuck him, lie. Best answer, lie. If it doesn't directly relate to the reason you are seeking medical attention, LIE your ass off to them. Just one more straw Desert Fox. My textbook response is "my child lives in a VERY safe home", though I do understand that answer does not directly address the question, and they may likely continue the hounding. Requiring me to lie means I must violate my religion - though we know "they" no longer regard any of that with validity. Only under one condition has God accepted, condoned, or even encouraged such action: "...but by great deception, thou shalt do war." Where does that leave Christians? Many people misunderstand the commandment thou shalt not bear false witness. It does not say thou shalt not lie. Lying to defend yourself and family is not a sin. We should not deny Christ, but other than that bearing false witness has to do with testifying falsely against someone. For example, telling your dear shriveled up ugly grandmother she looks lovely is no sin.... |
