Particularly AR type rifles, that are easy to aim, and fire a high-velocity round. the good news here is that no one died and the suspects can be tried etc. This person who was shot will probably be saved by advanced medical technology. Consider that the .223/5.56 FMJ round is not ideal at killing per se, especially at close range when the bullet passes completely through the target, failing to deposit all of its energy. These rounds are meant for large scale industrial war-fare where wounded enemy costs the enemy infrastructure more then the dead. This makes them ideally suited for home-defense. The civilian is also ideally suited to the other benefits of the round being that you can carry/load many rounds with high-capacity magazines. This is very important for situations where there is mob rule or anarchy, as this 12 year old kid or a single mother could defend them selves against a mob of people. What if there had been more then just two, in light of that recent attack in texas where 28(wtf!?!) black males assaulted a young Hispanic girl, her brother would need a high-cap mag. to save her. |
