I didn't start out the way I am now...Used to think I wanted to be out working, sending my kids to school, etc. And I did that, several years as a single mom, then had to work when we hit hard times after I was married. Now we are out in the country, I stay home full-time, homeschool, cook everything from scratch, have learned projects around the house, trying to learn how to do things 'the old way'- even learning to quilt! And I LOVE it- I know first hand that there are times women have to work, but if she's able to stay home I think it's the way to go. Personally, I'd rather be busy at home tending my family than out working for someone else everyday!
But I am super blessed too in that my husband not only works but does a lot around the house and with our kids :)
It's nice to read through this thread and see that there are others out there like us, gives me more hope knowing there are women that find God/country/family to be as important as it is to the men!

that's wonderful to hear. My teens are pulled out of public school, and are homeschooled.. I am 42 and attending cosmetology school right now and can do this and homeschool the boys.. that way i can work from home with a license.

Yeah, I learned most of what I know from trial and error. Still have lots to learn, like canning and knowing more about the edible plants in our woods.. that's next on my list.

Many modern American women will need to follow their talents and draw upon their immense sexual experience to elicit information from the enemy. Sadly many will simply collaborate with the enemy, trading sexual favors for security - most do this already so it's not a great leap.

Most wouldn't have the aptitude to learn how to shoot, let alone organise logistics or raise the next generation of Freedom fighters. Whoring it is.

Yeah most can't carry a 90# rucksack but than neither can alot of men. Besides what does that have to do with holding a rifle or planting a bomb? I have had young men crying across from me during pt because they could not get the job done. Don't ever discount what you can do when needed. That is all.

Not in my world. My wife can shoot as well as most men, and she could easily kill a man and move on to the next chore. If she was cooking dinner, she could grab a gun, shoot a man, and finish dinner.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention I am a veteran of the Gulf War... didn't want to have to bring it up, because that is not who I am, but yes I know how to march and run with that rucksack, and can shoot very well.

If you stop and consider how many cannot pass the military physical fitness test or are simply, too obese to qualify compounded further by criminal and/or gang affiliation 25 percent cannot pass the stupidly simple entrance examination.

Why re you fretting about perceived inadequacies of females as it appears that both genders are lacking common sense and basic skills.

Not only that - can sew anything and everything from clothing to draperies, can use hand tools AND power tools, can build furniture, fix plumbing, can produce major amounts of food in my back yard (garden), keep my house warm WITHOUT power, hunt, fish, gourmet cook, understand how to use herbs in cooking as well as medicinally, know how to prep (can, salt dehydrate), can bake bread AT HOME (w/o a breadmaker, lol), nurse sick children and dress wounds, etc etc etc.

Never did get paid very much for all this - in fact have been cruelly ridiculed for giving up my briefcase rather than my children and my home - and when the dollar dies? I know that these skills will be invaluable.

In today's society. I know plenty of women who can "do it all"! Nothing surprising just different fads.

There is no room for gender roles in basic survival.

Gender roles are a luxury of an organized society.

EACH AND EVERY PERSON, be it man or woman, should know everything they need to survive by themselves. That means cooking, cleaning, sewing, shooting, trapping, everything. In a survival situation, you cannot depend on the luxury of a capable partner. You may be separated, one may fall ill, or straight up die.

If you need another half to make a full set, YOU ARE USELESS AS AN INDIVIDUAL.

If you can shoot a rabbit but can't cook it, or if you can stitch wounds but not chop wood, you are a one-legged bastard in an ass-kicking contest.

Each and every one of us will have to be a force unto ourselves. Our long-term survival depends on it.

Any woman can shoot a gun as well as a man, and any man can sew and cook as well as a woman. There is no excuse not to learn. It's not like we'll forget how to do one if we learn to do another.

And as for gender roles? Fuck you with the man-does-hunting woman-does-sewing bullshit. You're a fool if you think an gender-organized regimen is either necessary or advantageous. You're a bigger fool if you think a survival situation will grant you time to plan who does what. You'd both better be equally capable to do whatever needs doing, whenever it needs doing, at a moment's notice.

I consider a woman who can't hunt and a man who can't sew to be equally huge embarrassments.
