Emigration from the United States
I recall heaps of people threatening to leave the U.S. if Obambam was re elected and i'm curious if anybody actually did. I am noticing a few more American accents my way.

Also i was looking for migration stats and guess what, there are none! apparently the U.S. does'nt keep track of figures leaving only arrivals?

and on a side note i see a lot of US/UK banter on here and thought this interesting.

'For the first centuries of its existence, the US benefited from its low population density and had attracted large masses of immigrants. A major source of emigrants from the United States are former military personnel retiring to the countries where they were previously based.[citation needed] As of 2010, the number of American long-term residents in the United Kingdom giving up on their U.S. citizenship has overwhelmed the U.S. embassy to the point where waiting lists extend for more than half a year.[1]

The United States does not keep track of emigration, and counts of Americans abroad are thus only available courtesy of statistics kept by the destination countries.'

So has anybody you know actually left because of the state of affairs or was it all hot air?

I'll be moving to Australia this June. The decision wasn't really based on politics...it just seems like a much more pleasant place to live in general. Not to mention, getting permanent residency there was actually quite simple.
