Actually not a bad gut-check to have early. You don't have kids yet (though that might motivate her to get off her ass and provide in the time of need -- it seems easier for women to get jobs these days.) But indeed, there's no "solution" to this. This market is very hard on men, and if the man doesn't provide income, the women walk.
