I would agree that you are a sovereign individual, but that is not to say that you are not connected to everyone else spiritually. The human race consists of one network of spirituality, and God is ever-present within it. However, God is inherently greater than you are as God is your Creator, and God is your spiritual parent. One worships God out of love and respect for their parent, and this pleases God as it shows Him that you are grateful for what He has given you. Therefore, to not worship God does not allow you to express gratitude for His creation, which includes you.
