The people that push this stuff may look really stupid, but, they're not. They look stupid because we listen to what they say. They say its for our safety and security. What you don't realize is that the "our" is them, as in GOVERNMENT. No, there will be MORE assault weapons going to government. Less to the people.

UnfortunaIy I think if they do this, it is going to be state by state and people will comply. People with families won't risk being shot by DHS.

Apparently you and your merry band of progressive “lawmakers” are hell bent upon enacting draconian gun control laws leaving honest citizens helpless while still doing nothing to curb all the violent gangs.

Please consider grandfathering or at the very least give us honest taxpaying citizens a fair amount of time to vacate the welfare state of New York to places that still honor and uphold the Constitution of the United States.

We do not wish to infringe upon your giant leaps and creating a government dependent population and believe you could successfully plead to “dear leader” for federal funding to keep the welfare state solvent.

Perhaps you should focus on far more important issues instead of clinging to the communist ideology of “dear leader” and gunrunner Eric Holder.

Since your laws will adversely impinge on the rights of law abiding taxpayers expect another exodus out of the welfare state of New York.

I think you may be wrong as far as compliance. I've been reading the comments made by the gun folks on alot of sites and even though some will comply it looks like alot of those fellows are ready to go all the way families or not. They genuinely seem to be drawing a line in the sand with regards to any gun bans. Even on Huffpo gun owners are saying that this will be a breaking point. That really surprises me that some who are politically left otherwise will not give up their weapons.

How many of these lawmakers are there Vs the amount of people living in NY,what gives them the right to dictate over the majority.

No offense to those that live in NY but they have a ownership rate of 18%, while there may be 2nd amendment supporter who don't own one, this doesn't shock the rest of the nation.

If the country isn't outraged for your sake, NY it's just that it's expected out of NY and also (less so but still expected) out of the other New England states.

I'm sincerely thinking that this country will be split up by sections, looks like the NE will be merging with England soon. Mindset seems so very different for the majority there.

No, I realize that. It doesn't matter what the majority think, or even the law for that matter in this instance because your rights are inalienable. But, if you get caught up in something else that you are innocent of and they find a weapon then you'll pay the consequences. It's wrong but we know how these things tend to work. If it passes, you all need to get out of there and join a state who will stand up against this type of thing. Leaders can be changed, you need a state where the populous believes as you do and their leaders listen.

Organizing a petition or trying to get other states involved will be what would commence a war and the nations states would look like a bully for influencing you alls "states rights" making a certain group look like hypocrites and since the MSM comes out of NYC it wouldn't play well. But your right in a moral and ethical sense. Your people have voted, IMO it's only going to get worse in that state, they seem to be set on passing more and more laws to treat the citizens like they belong in a nursery. Your new anchors and their bosses will be your guardian because they have all the answers and they will be the only ones tall enough to reach the juice box to pour your drinks, their children will get about a quarter inch higher juice in their cups, though. They are the NEW ROYALTY or hasn't anyone noticed.

Regretfully, banning guns is just the beginning. Like the UK, knives over 5 inches will soon be banned, then other issues will surface. The government will soon have 100% control over your lives. Right now DHS or DEA can break into your home, shot your aminals and threaten your children without any consequences. This has already happened and the courts sided with the government. Very soon there will be one branch of government and that is the President. Congress is begoming a non-entity and the courts are following the President's lead.
