It looks like we're going to have to ban ferrets next: 23:4-14. Use of ferrets prohibited; penalty No person shall hunt, kill or destroy, or attempt to hunt, kill or destroy, a hare or rabbit with ferrets, or have a ferret in possession in the woods or fields, under a penalty of fifty dollars for each offense. No, I'm NOT kidding. [link to lis.njleg.state.nj.us] Reminder to those who think they can do what they like to others with no repercussions... | Anonymous Coward User ID: 31759745 01/11/2013 10:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I live here in WV and open carry is cool. I own a jewelry store so I dress professionally every day. I have a hip holster with a Taurus 66 .357 may. People who see me around assume that I'm a cop if they don't know me from the store. Since I usually wear grey wool trousers and a navy blazer, I guess I can't blame them. That's what most detectives wear 'round these parts. |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 31993829 01/11/2013 10:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have a lifetime permit, and prefer to be discrete...it makes for a fun surprise for unsuspecting thugs who think they have me outnumbered...I can take five of you before I have to reload, motherfuckers ;) Quoting: BRIEF Watching their eyes bug out and walk around you when they see it on your hip is far more entertaining. Meh, my weapon is kinda intimate and private to me, like my balls...you don't really know I have'em until I whip'em out and show ya... ![]() From one Ohioan to another. |

Only necessary to have one after you have killed the thug. Quoting: Desert Fox So why don't you get a license? You want to do jail time after a confrontation? That is my risk and no one elses. I would rather face the music alive, than dead from some scum bag. That doesn't answer the question. Why don't you get a ccw permit? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1080440 pain in the ass. get the ccw then carry open! thats a brilliant idea. all CCWs should start carrying unconcealed. its a wonderful idea. |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 32010530 01/12/2013 12:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We don't have open/concealed laws here, and I do agree that if loads of people open carried crime would nosedive. The problemo in this hellhole is that almost nobody is armed anymore (even though they coud be!), so criminals are on the lookout for armed people in the hopes of getting their guns. Concealed carry is the safest way here. I carry compact and completely concealed at all times. |

Maybe because some asinine newspaper would publish that he has the permit. They've been doing that lately in states where the permits are public record, but still not conveniently and obviously accessible. |

Funny, too... Because in order to buy the gun, you have to pass a background check, and have no felonies or domestic convictions. Yet, even after they check you out, and know who you are, they harass you. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31970207 Of course, there are a few states and cities that have laws against it (check yours) but the vast majority do not. That's nice, but with open carry or conceal carry, there is pretty much NOWHERE you are permitted to take your weapon inside. The standard is No Weapons Permitted Inside. If the goal is to allow everyone to have concealed weapons for defense in unfortunate situations, but you are not allowed to bring the weapon inside anywhere, what benefit is it? Maybe I'm missing something. |
