What now? Walmart Statement on White House Meeting to Discuss Firearms Jan. 9, 2013 - "Walmart, like the rest of the country, has been engaged in a national dialogue about the responsible sale and regulation of firearms. "We have had ongoing conversations with the Administration, Congress, Mayor Bloomberg’s office, sportsmen groups, suppliers and others to listen and share our thoughts and experiences. "Over the years we have been very purposeful about striking the right balance between serving hunters and sportsmen and ensuring that we sell firearms responsibly. In fact, we became a charter member of Mayor Bloomberg’s coalition against illegal guns and adopted the 10-point code established by the Responsible Firearms Retailer Partnership that goes beyond what the law requires. "Knowing our senior leaders could not be in Washington this week, we spoke in advance with the Vice President’s office to share our perspective. We underestimated the expectation to attend the meeting on Thursday in person, so we are sending an appropriate representative to participate. "We take this issue very seriously and are committed to staying engaged in this discussion as the Administration and Congress work toward a consensus on the right path forward." -- David Tovar, Vice President, Corporate Communications [link to news.walmart.com] Nicely done! :unpin: |

This also includes Sam's Wholesale Club. Quoting: ClydeX I think you'll see WalMarts becoming THE primary governmental dispersion points for their specific geographic areas for rationing food, clothes, and even staple items. Physical buildings (stores) in place Warehousing in place Transport and distribution networks in place Supply Vendors in place Employees in place Conditioning of the people that this is "THE" place to go for your needs. Governmental alignment (and employees indoctrination) in place - remember the "See something/ Say something" commercials on the flat screens throughout their stores? WalMart has also been instrumental in the test-bedding of RFID Chips implanted within various products which they distribute. These are neither accidents, nor coincidence. At this point I only have one thing to say about Walmart. They can kiss my AZZ if they think I will buy anything there again. Normally I buy my yarns and canning supplies there because its so much cheaper well from now on I will be shopping else where. If they want to stop us from buying 22 ammo and shotgun shells then they can take their store and shove it. Quoting: pmb1 I surely understand/ we're all looking to save any money we can - the highlighted in red portions are just as important as the others. Yes, as much as I don't like walmart I have to stretch every dollar until it squeals. Can't help but shop there when so many things are so much cheaper. |

Understood - it's difficult to turn away when you can save 30% - 50% on a particular product - and that's not necessarily meaning Chinese knock-off junk. The Chinese knock-off junk is there simply to get more folks into the store - the greatest push over the last few years has been their grocery and staple items - the move to the "Super WalMart". Take a look around now and consider how many of their stores remain without a huge grocery area - or how many of these new "Super WalMarts" have been built literally within blocks of a store that has existed for years, leaving the old store to be sold, leased, or torn down. This is all to FORWARD the conditioning of "where" to go, while creating the familiarity with an organization that maintains an outward appearance of being both family and budget friendly. Job 12:7) But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: 8) Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. |

This would drive locals out of business leaving wally essentially sole provider. So, once gun control ledgisltion ramps up walmart would roll over leaving minimal if any availability of firearms/ammo. Whether true or not it'a good theory and appears plausable at this point. |

So I went to Big 5 was told to be at the door when they opened on Thursday morning. Got there just a few before the doos opened, they had about 50 people waiting, when the doors opened 90% went to the Gun counter and bought ammo, (No Weapons) some were spending Hundreds of dollars, I was lucky at getting just 2 50round boxes of .22. I estamate the store made about 3K in the first 30 min......Amazing. |
