It's clear that the Malvinas belong to Argentina - the Islands are just off the Argentine coast FFS. The British only want to hang on to the "Falklands" because there's some oil potential, but still they are doing nothing about it.

What they need to do is sell the Malvinas back to Argentina. That way the Brits get some cash in the kitty and the Argentines can then exploit the oil wealth and put some life back into their economy. The existing inhabitants are automatically granted joint UK/Argentine citizenship and everyone lives happily ever after.

Besides, the Malvinas needs an influx of latin ladies to improve the local genetics - those pasty-faced, frumpy, inbred farmers' wives are an abomination. Just sayin...

If Argentina start a war with the UK then all it will prove is that Kirchner has gone full retard.

My views on the status of the Falklands are well known, but that isn't the point here. I think that from an objective point of view the chances of Argentina doing well enough to save face in a war are pretty slim. Could they do some damage and kill British soldiers? Certainly. Could they do enough to make Britain give up the Falklands or force a negotiated settlement? I doubt it.

I think this time the UK would simply bomb mainland Argentina. It could be a disaster. If this socialist kook Kirchner starts a war for her own megalomaniacal aspirations, she will end up with lots of blood on her hands.

I think a mainland attack would be certain this time around, certainly a few key military installations hit by missiles.

I agree, although I'm not sure they would automatically go after the mainland.

I'm no supporter of Thatcher, but I do support how she handled the Falklands situation in '82. The one mistake she made in my opinion was to publicly rule out bombing mainland Argentina. The threat should have been there, even if in reality there was no intent to carry it out.

I hope they sent all the socialists to get killed in Kirchner's war, so the country will at least gain something out of it all.

When the British, so many thousands of miles away, give up without a shot being fired, said Argie head honcho would get masses of street cred and would be crowned el Presidente for life. Unfortunately for el Presidente, the Poms have a dark side, and being a lethal fucking race, would not let such an affront to British national prestige pass unpunished. They put together a naval fleet/troop convoy and steamed for the Malvinas where they proceeded to kick the living fuck out of the Argentine occupation forces and send them home with their tail between their legs.

2013: If the Argentines want to try and take the Malvinas by force - again, they are gonna get fucked in the arse - again.

The Poms should sell the Malvinas to the Argies then everyone's happy.

Spain should join Argentina, they are brothers, that will be much more interesting. If Argies go alone, we know what will happen.

Besides, Gibraltar sticks out to Spain like a one big middle finger, so together with Argies they may possibly have a chance.
