Where Is Magnetic North Pole Position 2013?
Something seems to be up. I can't find the actual position of the magnetic north pole as of today anywhere on the web. I only get old positions or old projected positions. Hopeing someone knows where I can see where it is as of now.

That's the best I could do as well. Saw map of where they thought it would be now from a few years ago but nothing on where it actually is. Used several different search engines and all gave me nothing but old news.

Odd that the latest info is from over a year ago.
I'm wondering, if maybe they only do a formal report on this once a year.
Were you able to find multiple reports from other years?

yep. i dont know for sure but seems with the weather being colder in siberia, china, india, parts of europe. The warmer over here in the south and eastern united states that all kind of fits into place. things are definitely changing. seems the pole was north of alaska but heading toward siberia with increasing speed. i wonder how fast it's moving now toward siberia. maybe 80 miles per year?

I didn't pay attention to that. As important as this position is to compass navigation there should be a record of it's actual position somewhere you would think. We've got GPS sure, but this seems more like a purposeful black out. Or maybe no one is interested in this data so it is hard to find on searches. But I doubt this is the case with this year's crazy weather. But incase no one is paying attention so the search engines are clueless I was hoping some one could link to some updated chart from NASA or something. I'm real curious to find out where it actually is and see if it helps explain our crazy weather sea ice shifts.

They estimate it is moving around 40 miles per year. Based on that and there formula on a couple site to figure it out since its last posted location I put it at... 2011

80.51 N

116.13w

Its in the Artic Ocean.

If you want to see where that is go to the Buoy Data Center and use the Cursor/Hand to find the location. Move the screen up over Canada.

Hope that helps.

Use a compass. Find the north star. It is within .75% of true north all year long.

The difference between the north star and whatever your compass says will give you an idea of magnetic North's relative position.

It is a little more complicated if we're splitting hairs, but you can use this to determine relative position and thus note change over time.

That location given is for 2013 based on last known location for 2011. Sorry if I confused you.

Magnetic North is different from True North.

Be interested in knowing where True North is and if its been effected in any way.

Wow! I had to check this out for myself. I did find out that they have had to renumber Tampa's (among other) runways due to the shift and it has accelerated to 80 miles per year (NOAA). It is headed towards Russia. Wild, now I have to keep looking for information. Good luck to you.

I saw that documentary a while ago... very informative and very well done.
I still have a lot of questions though, even after seeing this documentary.
How will this really affect us other than magnetic north being south and magnetic south being north. In the switch, our magnetic field is weakened, but it isn't gone.. and when it switches, from what I can gather, it is strong again.
So we have the weakened field for the period of time the switch actually happens and that is it.
Oh, and no-one seems to know how long it will take for the switch to take place. Some say it will happen fast, others say it will happen very slowly.
So, for me there is still a lot of unknowns in this variable.

I don't put much faith in old predictions when everything seems to be changeing so rapidly and unexpectedly. Who knows, it may have jumped unexpectedly once again or slowed down. Looking for a current position on a global map. I'll try again tomorrow searching through government and university data centers. Thanks.

Re: Where Is Magnetic North Pole Position 2013?
Polar drift is a geological phenomenon caused by variations in the flow of molten iron in Earth's outer core, resulting in changes in the orientation of Earth's magnetic field, and hence the position of the magnetic north pole.

The magnetic north pole is approximately 965 kilometers from the geographic north pole. The pole drifts considerably each day, and since 2007 it moves about 55 to 60 km per year as a result of this phenomenon.

This is not there prediction. I made the calculations based on 80 miles per year from the 2011 last known location.

Its over water above Canada in the Artic Ocean. Heading towards Russia.

If your trying to figure out if were in trouble we are. Its moved 40 plus degrees from its last historical location.

We in the Red Zone for a flip already.

The only question we don't know is when the Flip will occur and where it will end up...?

There's a really cool tool at the National Buoy Data site. The little cursor hand shows the Long and Latt as you move it around the map. Go to the site. Scroll the map up so you can see over Canada and move the hand until you find the Long and Latt I gave you. Then you will see where it is. Nothing to see really. Its over open water in the Artic Ocean.

I tried Google earth that I downloaded on my computer to find the new magnetic north for 2013. I figured since when I typed in north pole it went there it would take me to magnetic north if I typed it in. It took me somewhere near the north end of the west coast of the USA. Which if it is true would explain all the freaky weather we are having this year. Or maybe some city street might be named magnetic north. Who Knows. You try it out.

Re: Where Is Magnetic North Pole Position 2013?
The world is flipping upside down. Natural disasters are yet to follow and has started back in 2010. As the world flips, the earth will open up to sink holes, erupting volcanoes such as yellowstone National Park, Great Earthquakes such as those never seen or felt b4, Mountains will fall, every foundation will be put out of place. Every star in our solar system is effected by these events, it will be like a domino effect with the planets. Nasa says " every planet switches polarities at some point in time". Proof of this can be found in the triangle at the sea bed. I do believe nasa is wrong about the time line of everything they think they know.. like the dinosaurs for example, Nasa says billions of years ago... I say not billions, but only 2000 to 3000 years ago. Their has been proof of man walking with the creatures as proof has been found with, a dinosaur skeleton and a foot of man side by side in a fossil. Not sure whom believes in the bible, wont get into it much, but it is still history. Back when noel built the ark for certain creatures, and the world flooded. That was the extinction of the dinosaurs. But not all perished. such as alligators, turtles, snakes, etc. When there is mass amount of waters on a world such as ours, while the world turns, the water really dont move, it will cause dirt to move very rapidly.. here is your proof to see for yourself. " Take a bucket and put water in it.. Take a golfball, or something that shall float then turn the bucket. If you notice, the object dont move, nor does the water. Thats how waves come about and wind. Im sure over time air and water will start moving the same direction as the planet "bucket" is moving if it were to keep turning for a long while.. when the world filps, whos to say that it dont start turning the other way " such as venus... Backwards?" We will then have massive storms, Hard winds, flooding of all sorts, the land will move.. Like i said, Massive disasters like no man has ever seen. I do believe that every 3600 yr's +/- this happens. I have noticed that each time the moon turns red, an event happens, sure it is Mercury casting a shadow or maybe even venus.. But watch the next time it turns read and be prepared.. We are on the verge of destruction. I had a vision jus the other day of another mass heading towards us. " Behold, I stand with my forearms leaning against a hand railing of some sort, looking to my left i see a building which seems to be a mall of some sort. It being 11 pm, the sky had not and was not of darkness as it should have been. I looked up at a 35 degree angle only to see 2 other planets b4 me, One with great mass looking much like earth. It was bright with light from the sun reflecting off it, causing our night to be somewhat of day time. I then noticed the other planet, it too looking like earth, but as small as the moon. Both had oceans, and land round about. From behind me i hear a noise as if 100 fighter jets flying into battle. I looked str8 up only to see an asteroid fly over my head being cast in front of me, looking to be so close to earth as if it were being rolled like a ball on the ozone layer leaving a trail of sparks for miles. I noticed an elder man to my right. I had spoke to him and said ( if that were to hit earth, no one would survive the impact). the man then turned to me with a smile as if he had no worries, but was happy to see these things to come, and he said unto me ( Your right, i do agree). After an estimated time of 5 minutes, I started hearing sirens blaring as if it had entered into earth's space. But now as i reflect on it, I am starting to think, maybe it wasn't sirens of warning, but trumpets from the other planet saying it is time. This tells me another mass is now heading this way causing these events to happen. The time line is unknown. But will come to be.

Re: Where Is Magnetic North Pole Position 2013?
NOAA has a useful little program that will predict where the North Magnetic Pole is any day up to 2015. Go to NOAA and type "magnetic north pole" into the search engine. It will download a little mini program where you plug in the date, it tells you where it is...

Alternatively, you could buy yourself a compass and start walking...
