The comment, at the bottom of the link, by MRDIRK49 mirrors my thoughts EXACTLY. Those currently in power are destroying OUR Constitution but then want to use it when it suits THEIR needs?! Those Criminals are so far out of line they give the term a whole new definition.

They quote THE CONSTITUTION when it suits them. Ask about the 2nd Amendment and THE CONSTITUTION becomes an old out of date document.

Dishonest Abe Lincoln unconstitutionally did not allow any states to secede not for a noble purpose but for money. He started growing the federal government as if it was on steroids, which required more money to run it. The southern states were the principle source of income via import duties on goods they shipped north, and when Lying Abe saw his major revenue source leaving, he invaded them to stop them from going.

By the way, the reason they wanted to leave was because Abe decided to impose a PUNITIVE import tax on Southern goods. Punitive meaning it was recognized as being beyond an acceptable percentage and became punitive by its percentage increase. The southern states begged him to not do it OR THEY WOULD HAVE TO SECEDE. They warned him, he didn't listen because he needed the money, and so took the country to war with 600,000 Americans dying.

Actually, "they" are right in this instance, since as a wise poster noted above:



States are sovereign, they do not need to ask, nor should they ask for the right to secede. If the states want to withdraw from an agreement they made between themselves then they should just leave.

The Secession petitions were just a protest anyway, serious Seccessionists would have gone to their State Legislatures and Governors...

I understand what you're saying, I've encountered the same. I have been both AC and paying member and can tell you there are "clicks" here just like anywhere people are....this is no different than any other place that people gather, it's just virtual.
