You are My child, only given to your parents under their care. You were a gift in joy. Do not betray that love. Do I not correct and discipline those I love? Or cast out forever, as The Father wills.

Turn your cheek from Him,

Jesus died on the cross for our sins. God is forgiving. Do good and good will follow you. There are many years ahead of you for living your life decently. Congrats on taking the right path. Stay on it! Don’t get discourage because of some bumps along the way. At the end, God will always triumph over evil.

You are forgiven your sins. The difficult part you need to work on is KNOWLEDGE on how and why you should forgive yourself.

From experience, he doesn't cater to our every whim... For many this is a sign of 'lack of love' because they feel that when they pray, a thunderbolt should strike from the heavens to show that they were acknowledged...

That you feel some sort of wrath against you, is a sign that you are on the right path. But it is not God that send you any pains. But the devil is angry that you convert. He hopes that you will think it is God that punishes you by giving you the worries, so you may convert back again.

God may be let this happen to see if you really mean serious. Or there is some other reason. It often can be a process to really get rid of earlier dependences. Because God does not take away immediately, without the cooperation of a free will of the person in question.
