Don't know about deranged but he is definitely fed up about being lied to. And this was the way he expressed it. "Paradise lost" or something like that. Was a love story involving young people, and their escape back to the "real world".

He has a "kill list" and one of the results of this list is the death of many innocents including small children that had nothing to do with the "target." They have even blown up adjacent houses via "collateral damage" and wiped out whole families in the process.

Yeah, I saw that. First thing I thought is this is no normal parent. This man is acting. He had to get into character which I have seen actors do many times.
