Believe it or not they're better than a real handgun at close ranges for some purposes. The hardened concrete nails they are designed to fire will go right through a bullet proof vest. |

Maybe it depends on the nails. Some guy killed his wife in a local hospital by shooting her with a nailgun. (They were both very elderly, she had dementia and terminal cancer). He couldn't get a real gun, so that's what he used. Sad story really. Person445 User ID: 11438968 Canada 01/14/2013 09:01 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | DeWalt DID not make this. People can make home-made weapons, yes you're right. Watch In the Line of Fire with Clint Eastwood for an example. An average nailer at 100pst can fire a nail (this is while pulling the switch back) about 20 ft. We used to do it all the time on job sites and fuck around. Hardly the weapon I'd choose considering you have to hook up a compressor. As for the battery operated ones they work on elastic energy. The force is very small compared to the power you get with a compressor. Pulling a battery-operated nail gun on a perp will most likely get the shit kicked out of yourself. THIS IS NOT a reasonable form of home-protection. Follow me on Twitter: @RussellScott202 |
