Big sunspot AR1654 is crackling with C- and M-class solar flares, and it poses a threat for even stronger eruptions.
Since it first appeared four days ago, sunspot AR1654 has been facing away from Earth. But now it is turning toward us, increasing the "geo-effectiveness" of its explosions.

I wish the clouds would break, for she is directly earth-facing now... anyway, this is what I captured a few days ago ---

There is an incoming CME on the 17th from the solar flare a couple days ago.

Geomagneticstorm and I will definitely be looking through his Coronado solar telescope today! Is it wrong to admit that we have our fingers crossed for some big flares?

So they say. I'm not sure if there is scientific proof of this or not.
I have read information that seems pretty convincing.

The odds are that your right. A huge x-flare won't pop off. However, it could and so we pay attention. If this spot is not the one, perhaps the next or the one after that etc...

No problem, just have nobama write up an executive order to ban these. The sun can no longer own AR's.
