In 1927 The original Charter was amended To read "To have succession after February 25, 1927, until
dissolved by Act of Congress or until forfeiture of franchise for violation of law." This means the 20 years never ran out it should have ran out in 1933, this is due to the fact that the first two Federal banks of the United states ran out due to charters not being renewed. This was the only way to combat it. So before we break this down lets look at the facts

1) If the Federal Reserve was to have expired on December, 23 2012 as some would have you believe it would have been 85 years after the Act was amended. Remember when something gets an extension its from the date it was altered not the original date. For example in 1927 IF they added a 100 years charter it would have been from the amending date which means it would run out in 2027 no 2013
2) If you believe it Runs out in 2012 you also have to believe that the original was amended for 99 years not 100 which simply makes no sense and only serves to support your belief.
3)Also some people claim it was a perpetual extension, according to Blacks Legal Dictionary "Never ceasing; continuous ; enduring; lasting; unlimited in respect of time; continuing without intermission or interval." Some people claim we are based on Bouvier legal dictionary " That which is to last without limitation as to time; as, a perpetual statute, which is one without limit as to time, although not expressed to be so."
Both are indefinite extensions only to be abolished by Congress or proof of violation of law.
