The point she meant to make in her speech, she explained, was that “my work is evolving.” Foster later added that her award was like a graduation of sorts, comparing it to a high school or university commencement.
It's an honor that allows one to re-examine “the patterns of your career and how they express you psychologically,” she said.

I am not a sheeple whatsoever... I don't watch TV, I rarely watch movies... I definitely haven't tuned in to any award show on the planet since I was a kid. So definitely don't think I eat up media like a fly on shit... I do not.

This is a big deal... sure, it's way down the ladder, and practically just gossip among the peasants (hollywood actors aren't paid shit compared to the big boys, Madonna's net worth is a meager 650mil)...

BUT... it shows something is up, something serious... and look at the faces of others in attendance... Mel Gibson for example... 4:38, read his face (yes I understand they're actors) and tell me he doesn't think what she is doing/saying with this speech = fucking serious. The last 2 minutes are most important.

You can see it on a few other faces as well, they knew what was really going on and what she was really saying... and who she was really talking to.
