Jodie Fosters' mother is currently deep in the depths of Alzheimer's which will soon end her life. That was the reference to "many things going on tonight I know you won't understand..." Her mother is in and out of awareness now. Mostly out. She's all but lost the ability or memory of how to eat and must be fed with an NG tube or thru an IV - the woman is suffering a particularly miserable death and of course her daughter is seeing it all. She has her mother in her home with round the clock nurses and such, but Jodie is said to be doing much of care herself. The fact that she's a highly paid celeb cannot buy health for her mother again or relieve the symptoms that her mom is suffering thru. I feel so sorry for her. Thank heaven she has her sons and her career in whatever form it may take in the future...

I would say that
all the things she said overtly
were truly meant and therefore harmless enough.

If I were to interpret a second layer of meaning,

Here was what I thought when first seeing it.

Her publicist may be a lover who wanted her to "come out" and announce they are an item.

Her publicist is not going to like what she says, which is, "I am single". Low blow, break up from the lover who was obsessed and was trying to force her to do something she didn't want to do.

She will have to deal with blowback, not sure what will happen to her career, this is her publicist after all.

That was my first thought.



My second thought is that if you watch all the people there, as it has been said already, half seem oblivious to any thing and the other half seem angry or upset, even the gal giving her her award, J.Alba, looked kind of grumpy if you watch all of it until Foster takes the mic. It's like they got a bad talking to right before they went on air, who knows but something was determinately in the air that night.



My third thought was that movies aren't making what they used to make and the business is dying, reality tv is much cheaper,these highly paid actors are no longer needed and the industry is going to change. She envisions herself still telling stories, whether it be writing primitive pictorials on the caves walls or storytelling to children, after the industry is gone she will DO something along these lines, even if no-one knows what's she's doing nor even cares. This could also be because of some other SHTF scenario.

She also called her mother Evelyn instead of Brandy and on other shows she has always called her Brandy so this is very deep.

She may realize that what-ever, who-ever takes the reigns of this country may very well indeed that some people need to go and that is usually artists and gay people amongst others.---But we won't know until we see who gets the reigns.
