well there I am, contrarian as usual

I'm the one who left in 2002, coming back now

I've always been ahead of the curve

You gotta get busy living, or busy dying, and every place is a prison of sorts

You have to do what you came to do, not cling to a petty illusion of safety

The US is better than people realize...that's exactly why there is so much effort being made to demoralize and diminish the hopes of people here

If the US population weren't a threat, why would they bother?

Turn off the propaganda TV and look around you and realize that heaven is available here and now

Eh?

I have thought about leaving but never could settle on where to go. Sweden, Iceland, or New Zealand where my top picks but after looking into how hard it was to actually go there and live I kind of gave up on the dream for now.

I was going to do it more for the experience of living in in one of those country's then escape this one. Although maybe now with what is going on an escape might of been smart.

I am a Kiwi who lived in the UK for years and now reside in Australia.

If you are determined and willing to take the risk you can survive anywhere.

New Zealand is beautiful but because it is a smaller country there are not the opportunities that bigger countries provide.

Save hard and go for a visit to them all and see which one feels good.

I firmly believe that if you have a good work ethic and are prepared to make some sacrifice along the way you can end up living anywhere.

We got put years ago. Best decision we ever made.

NZ is easy to get in (if you have skills we need here )
And it is pretty cheap to emigrate
But the cost of living is higher

Where exactly to they think they will run to?

Some third world nation without guns, or a military?

Those who have left are blessed

Those that are working for it are fortunate.

Those that have started thinking about it are awake

Those that have not done any of the above three are going to regret it.

I've weighed this issue in my mind several times, but damnit, this country has been good to me, and it's my home. Do I love everything about it right now, that's a big negatorie, but I love it enough to fight for it...

The "U.S.A" is not a physical country. It is a corporate interstate government shrouded in supposition and screaming "don't look at the man behind the curtain!!!"

The actual countries are the states that the Union is comprised of; The Union is nothing without them and this is why it fights like a demented beast when the nation-states-in-power exercise their rights.

you move to another country, even one as similar to ours as Canada, and you realize how American you are, how much the story of the revolution and founding fathers resonates in your very outlook

you may not think so , but wait until you live in a place where people never question their government, or are afraid to speak their opinions out loud, or take for granted 300 years of monarchy and corruption

you begin to realize what made the US different is somewhere in your very thought process, and it doesn't matter if you are D or R, not if you really resonated with it

and then you realize life is short, and we all come here for a purpose, maybe to make a stand, and maybe its a well known stand or maybe somerthing that never even makes a line of type, but it's your mission, and your spirit knows it

and sure, you could die safe in someone else's home town, someone else's land, always an outsider, always a refugee of sorts...or you could go home and help draw that human line in the sand

that's me, anyway, and it took me over a decade of hard contemplation and thinking to come to this conclusion, and I know it isn't for everyone, but no one who ever got something worthwhile ever did it without risk or losing a pint of blood or two along the way

best of luck to you, and may fair winds be at your back

I love america, or a tleast what it was. I have served and lived overseas for a few years and will fight to keep her alive if it comes to that.

But the dream of living in New Zealand, Iceland, Sweden, or anywhere else goes beyond fleeing something your scared of. More so for me its an adventure, new way of life, a way to see new things, meet new people, climb new mountains.. I am a Nomad at heart and would love to see how the others live even if its just for the experience of it all.

Explain how? There are so many laws and regulations on the books either State or Federal or both that you cannot "live" without being apart of the system to survive ... There are so many regulations and laws that even the States and Federal laws are not in sync with each other ... It's a matrix for sure -

love is stronger than fear

stronger than death

and it scares the fuck out of them, because they have no love

turn it all around, as if in a mirror world and ask yourself

why are they trying to scare all the smart and good people OUT of the US?

Must be something pretty good here, and honestly, they don't have the power to get all of us...we have to do it to ourselves, with the help of their lies and propaganda

so turn it off and give it back to them.

They are people of the lie and they have no soul, no passion and no love. Their strength is in illusion

What makes humans powerful is their passion married to strength and reason.

Humans scare the crap out of them, so piss them off and stick around and make sure you know plenty of others who feel the same way

Just remember....where ever you go, there you are with yourself and you will have the same old problems and issues to deal with.

No, life is not perfect here. Nor is it perfect anywhere.

Every place has its down side just as any job does.
It is good to live and work in another country.

Most people who do end up appreciating their home country, where ever that is, even more -- excepting, of course, those who come from the places where every day is an exercise in horror and semi-starvation.

Left in 08 came back.
"Accept now that all you have seen from the day of your birth on the surface of the earth, to the present, are wonderful only because the finite mind of man is confused with fragments of evidence, that, from whatever direction we meet them, spring from an unreachable infinity."

"There was a man who could create what could not be imagined. A temple so great you questioned if it was built with human hands. A man who built an idea into the greatest force the world has ever known. A world built from a single word. I care not for the folly of man but for the end of human contention."

I left in 2008 and I'm going back in a few weeks, not permanently, but just to work and enjoy the good life again. Foreign countries, even if they speak English, take a while to get used and lack a lot of things people take for granted.

For example, good luck finding a decent pizza where I'm at. Public toilets with toilet paper.
Good roads that are wide enough.
Comfortable climate without AC.
Poverty at every corner.

They just imposed "sin taxes" on liquor and tobacco, so that's a negative too.

12% value added tax on everything.

Where can you go thats much better than the US at the present time? Argentina is up and coming but still has high unemployment. Europe is in the midst of a financial meltdown (and frankly all the overly religious muslims I hear about there don't seem real inviting). Obviously 3rd world countries are out and every country in central and south america (with exception to argentina) and every country in north africa. China would be interesting only they have a horrible unemployment rate and they make little to work in factories so it would depend on your skill set. Japan does not take outsiders unless your a nuclear scientist. Australia and Canada I put on par with america and would not be worth the time and effort to move. I do think New Zealand has some upside, but at the moment the global economy is hurting it too. I guess the point I'm making is that its bad all over the world right now. The future is bleak at best. Guess we just have to ride it out and be brave. Who knows maybe a change in events will get things straightened out.

I am native american and this is my home! But now days it sure dont seem like it.When i leave the house its not car jackers i worry about. Its not muggers,,it is the police! I have asked a lot of people what their number one fear is when going to town or traveling and everyone i have asked says the same thing,,the cops!As much as i love my country,,if i had the means i would pack up and go to a south american country.I know a lot of those places have their fair share of problems too but at this point im ready to put on a loin cloth and live in the jungle if thats what it takes to find a little comfort and peace.
