Re: bring innnnn the baaaaaaaad karma........gun ban pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft
Interesting that OP is Canadian. This is a widespread attitude in Canada, which until recently I basically agreed with. The current regime in Canada, which has officially changed their name to The Harper Government from Government of Canda, is engaging is wildly unconstitutional omnibus bills ( yes we have a constitution too.),dismissing Parliament via Proroguing and generaly really repressive behavior.
Read Pierre Burton's "Why we act like Canadians" it is a written as a open letter to Uncle Sam. Published in 82, it may be dated, but it gives good insight to the Canadian psyche.
Our long gun registry was recently scrapped, but you need an FAC course to own a gun, and legal handgun ownership is really difficult.
I think Canadians should leave your second amendment fight to US citizens, mostly because I don't want or need US input into my counties affairs, although anyone is free to pose and opinion I guess. I disagree with the OP in that I think people should get to decide on the amount of regulation they want in their state, county, whatever ( I don't know what jurisdictions pass these regulations) vote on the issue, act on consensus and live with the results.

And my hope is that Americans raise a voice so loud that people all over the world wake up and understand what the word FREEDOM really means!

I'm backing them up, they woke me up as a Canadian. This site alone providing a voice for ALL from everywhere is American made. God Love ya Americans!

You don't agree with people making decisions on a local basis through a democratic process? When I say live with the results I mean on this continent we (hypothetically) decide our issues through democratic process ( I know that's not true anymore in either country) them assent to the wishes of the majority. Doesn't mean all the decisions will agree with your views, or that they are the right decisions, but hey that's democracy.(reputed to be extinct.)

Normally I don't have many nice things to say about Canadians on here lol. Oh btw thanks again for Trailer Park Boys! is my favorite show :-p

I know and more and more are waking up. Up here it is not a matter of getting gunned up its a matter of getting every one talking. Between the military and the RCMP the controllers have a lot of power, but they would get spread pretty thin pretty quick. Harper may think he has a lot of power, but he could loose it pretty quick, There are some high profile military with lots of public influence Dallaire, Mackenzie, and some good honest politicians (sounds funny saying it doesn't it) like Steven Lewis or Joe Clark ( totally different sides of the spectrum.) We have a shot up here, we just need to start listening to people with radically different views than ours and working together to start agreeing what we want to preserve. I vote NDP and Green, bet you don't Kathy, but we are both discussing things rationally and respectfully. We need more of this. I don't agree with everything First Nations people do and say but Idle No More is a good sign. Call me a libtard or an optimist but I have hope.

Well we'll muddle along without you then. Have fun. Careful what you wish for though.

Having worked with Canadians, I was surprised how much they enjoy guns. I was surprised how much French Canadians enjoy owning weapons on a regular basis. I was surprised how many of them own weapons illegally in Quebec and the government can't do squat about it. The sad fact is, I see Canadians more like the old Americans than Americans are Americans. They deal with hand shakes in business, they honor their commitments and they don't cause shit unless they deserve it. They harbor more libertarians there right now than in the US with our statist assholes.
