Will Obama push for ban on Cigarettes? 2nd hand cigarette smoke kills more than 42,000 people a year, including 900 infants, according to a new, thorough analysis of secondhand smoke deaths by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco. [link to www.livescience.com] Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29992561 Obama said today "If there's even one life that can be saved, then we've got an obligation to try,". "When it comes to protecting the most vulnerable among us, we must act now. ... Let's do the right thing." So will Obama do the right thing and push for a ban on cigarettes? Will Obama push for a ban on packs of cigarettes containing over 10 cigarettes? Why would anyone need a pack of 20 cigarettes? These high capacity packs just allow smokers to poison children faster. We are not talking about 30 kids here. We are talking thousands of children being killed and hundreds of thousands of children losing their parents to cancer! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29992561 I'd prefer it if I could by smaller packs or even singles. Think about this. Why won't they allow this? I'll tell you why. Every time I try to quit if I breakdown a little I have to buy whole pack of 20, then it's all over and the next thing you know I'm back to a pack a day. They don't want us to quit. They need those tax dollars rolling in. |

Will Obama push for ban on Cigarettes? The statistics on deaths caused by smoking are whack. If you die from any type of cancer, heart attack, stroke or anything really and you have smoked, they say you died because of it. If you are walking along get hit by a bus while smoking they will put that in the statistics (for real, I shit you not). If your baby dies of sids and someone in the household smokes even if they smoke no where near the baby its put down to smoking. |

Ask yourself, why is your benevolent government so hell bent on stopping smoking on the basis of the plausible lie that they are protecting health but are quite happy to let people drink alcohol until they pass out, eat GMOs, consume nano-particles, breath poisoned air and indeed to put sodium flouride in drinking water, to name but a small sample of things that are not considered dire public health sins but are linked to some of the most horrific illnesses ever known to humankind, not to mention posing a danger to others, as is the case with alcohol? |
