They are beautiful and majestic, and remind me of my God who created them. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." - Matthew 22: 37-39 "What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?" - Galatians 5: 22-23 |

Not only clean air, but woods connection to water, health of rivers, lakes, connection to healthy earth. In previous religions such as Druidism , and Aria religion, Trees were considered SACRED, as live beings. NOT EVEN ONE LIEF WAS ALLOWED TO BE CUT FROM THE TREES. Woods are connected with human civilization itself. In previous epoch THE MIDDLE EAST WAS GREEN BASE. Than trees were cut down, and whole civilization moved to North Medditeranian, which was rich in woods. After destroying the woods, civilization moved to western Europe. Logical point is that when woods and trees are cut down , climate become more dry and cruel. On the long run people move to another wooden and wet climate. There was one very famous historian in Persian time. He explain Persian lands as Paradise Garden , with wet lands, with woods, with large number of animals. Actually the word Garden have origin from Persia. Today with the help of Human Stupidity and Ignorance, in this parts of Iran, not only there is deserts, but not even one animal can live there. If humans were just more intelligent , they would make green all the deserts in the world. They would have much more resources and food. They would understand like ancient teachings stated, that water is connected to plants, and communicate with them. More time will pass , till human morons understands the natural laws. This ridiculous liberal capitalism (exploiting the nature for profits) is just a small pox decease of a childish humanity stage of evolution. |

Your great mistake is to talk about humanity as a homogenous mass. Many many people love trees but there's the short-sighted elite and the bank industry that demands profit whatever it takes. I hate when people say that humanity is stupid while there are always evolved minorities inside humanity. (like GLP-people) It'll NEVER come a time (not in a million years, maybe later) when the evolved part of humanity will be in majority. There were many civilisations before us, they come and went but NOTHING really changed. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 32375749 TO EVERYONE ELSE WHO IS REALLY SURPRISED BY THIS POST....DUUUUH DO YOU COACH THE DEFENSE FOR THE DENVER BRONCOS? I found it 'fascinating' that they linked the increased cardiovascular deaths to the beetle! CVD is number one cause of death globally. Yes we all know how important trees are to the environment and our well being. But normally those deaths would have been linked to an unhealthy lifestyle, prevented by eliminating risk factors such as tobacco use, high blood pressure, unhealthy diet/obesity, lack of exercise. You never see anything about lack of trees on those list of risk factors! Again great article OP! Dissolve the illusion of separateness. |

Those individuals that received no or negative benefit from nature where selected out gradually. If anyone believes in evolution he must have no doubts. |

Trees take in lots of pollution (not to mention lots of water, which prevents flooding). They also put out fresh oxygen, which we breath. Trees help control noise pollution, clean the soil, absorb carbon dioxide, and help keep us cool in the heat. We have a tree in the living room, and feel so lucky to have it there - trees rock! |

Here is a fun little article on it [link to st-james.hubpages.com] From that article... "Dr. Milstein believed that exposing the plants to soothing music could help them to grow several times faster...dammit! and all this time I've been using Miracle Grow. But guess what those lab stoner's studies had confirmed? That's right! Plants subjected to soft, classical music grew towards the sound, but that plants subjected to hard rock music often withdrew from the music, eventually the plants would wither and die..."
