Prise d'otages en Algérie: 34 otages et 15 assaillants ont été tués

Last Edited by Aristide Torchia on 01/17/2013 08:26 AM
Torchia was born in 1620. He was apprenticed in Leyden under the Elzevir family. After returning to Venice he published small works on philosophical and esoteric themes. In 1666, Torchia published De Umbrarum Regni Novem Portis (The Nine Doors to the Kingdom of Shadows), which was in turn based on the Delomelanicon, or Invocation of Darkness, a work supposedly written by Lucifer and that would allow the reader to summon devils. The Inquisition condemned Torchia for magic and witchcraft and burned him at the stake in 1667.

If this is a "rescue" attempt they do realize that the whole point was to recover the hostages alive???

Staged event.

Private companies hire well armed teams too defend out of country interests.

Seems like the private security force was "pulled back" or never even sent to begin with.

At least 35 hostages and 15 captors have been killed in a siege at a southern Algerian gas field.

The group was being transported from one part of the complex to another, when they came under attack from the Algerian army. The lead hostage-taker is also among the dead.
