What does being a christian mean to you?

How have you related these teachings you have read in the bible into your own life?

Do you not think Gods would could be in all scriptures, not just one book? Why are you lead to believe the only truth is in the bible.

I am not saying there is no truth, i am saying there is A TRUTH.

But this can be discovered within your own heart regardless of what a preacher tells you?

I have some more questions...

1.) Do you believe you must accept jesus in order to be saved?
2.) Is the fact the lord rose from the dead more important, or are his teachings that we are part of the fatherhood of god and brotherhood of men more important?
3.) Is Jesus the only son of god?
4.) Is the FATHER jesus speaks of, everyones father, is it only the Father of Jesus Christ.
5.) Are we adopted children as the song by 3rd day would imply, or are we actual children of god
6.) Does the blood of jesus wipe away our sins?
7.) Is jesus okay with the millions of animals slaughtered daily within the united states to feed our grotesque needs?
8.) Will jesus set up a kingdom within this world, or is his kingdom truly of another world. Do you expect all material things to come to a glorious triumph, or are you willing to accept that it may truly only be spiritual, and nothing of this world matters
9.) Is jesus the king of the jews?
10.) Is jesus the messiah spoken about in jewish scriptures, or is there another?

Re: Are you a christian? This is an open conversation. Not bait. What does it mean to you when you say "I am a christian"
IT Means GOD 'S Law condemns me..I cannot work my Way to GOD by my good deeds and living....However GOD in his infinite Love and Grace offers mankind a way of coming to him, spotless, blameless and as white as snow, and that is found in ONE MAN only the begotten Son of the Living GOD, Jesus Christ, the Lamb of GOD who takes away the sins of the world.

He shed his blood at Calvary on the cross for a ransom of many.

Since GOD is outside of space and time, when you repent of your sins and invite Jesus Christ in your life..GOD can go back in time before you were born and wipe your slate clean..He can throw all your sins you have comitted or will commit into the deepest oceans never to be held agaisnt you again...That is what it means to be "BORN AGAIN".

Now you can walk in your life victorious, growing in your knowledge of your Heavenly Father, doing his will, forgiving other's as you have been forgiven
Being light and salt in the earth...Sharing with other's the GOOD NEWS of the gospel, you find healing and restoration in your life, and even though you go through trials and hardships or fall to sin in your walk, you always know Christ is there to forgive you,not pick you up and help you get back on your feet...As the LORD will never forsake you....

This is why I am a Christian....

A follower of the Most High GOD.....

You also think i read the bible often by asking me a biblical question, because honestly i don't.

The immediate response i had when you asked me that question was seeing thy fathers nakedness could be related to one who is not clothed with the light of god. Doesn't mean he does not have it inside of him, but he has not consciously made himself aware.

In terms of the bible and genesis story, he drank whine, and was naked, and they saw his nakedness. Would they have seen his nakedness had the knowledge of good and bad taken place? Probably not.

So your revealed yourself.

The bible confirms itself !
Since I gave you Gen. 9:22 you gave back a negative defense ... ANd YES, I will give the elusive scripture and prove you do not understand what you are talking about.
Got a bible? We must confirm the Word by rightly dividing it and the formula for that is written in 2 Cor. 13:1. Understand that? Now I will prove that verse to you that we need two witness's to confirm the Word.
The answer to Gen. 9:22 "Saw thy fathers nakedness" is give to us in the Word itself.
Go read now Lev. 18:8 and Lev. 20:11. What does it say there?
Also go to Eze. 22:10 "saw thy fathers nakedness". The next few verse's of that even makes it clear what a sin is in that Hebraism.
Not knowing Hebraisms, figures of speech, metaphors, symbolics, idioms, acrostics, you like many will misunderstand the Word of God the bible.

So, this is why you have many questions.
And if your heart is not right with God, HE Himself will not open the Word to you. Not my words, but IT is written.
Since you failed to answer properly and truly want a battle with others, should I share more with you?

I am sure you will have taken that as an offense also.
So have a nice day, you failed.

To be a Christian is to be one of the most self-centered people in the world.

To be a Christian is to believe that 'G'od 'H'imself would torture 'H'imself to death for your benefit, in order that you NOT suffer the consequences of your own evil actions; being so pathologically dependent upon your 'love'.

Are you a child molester? Are you a rapist, an abortionist, a torturer, a terrorist mass murderer, a genocidal maniac, a bankster who has stolen trillions of dollars?

NO PROBLEM.

Just say you are "sorry" and that you "accept Jesus as your 'L'ord and 'S'avior" and you will go to 'heaven' when you die.

first off, i am not struggling with gods word, his word is very much alive within my heart. don't assume things.

Probably not.

but you go ahead, and be elusive.

So have a nice day, you failed.

okay.

once again, you list bible passages

i don't need them

like i said, you are elusive.

and quite frankly, i could care less whether you think i am right with god or not.

i am here to spread the true word.

we are all children of god, and we are all brethren. Just as jesus said.

Re: Are you a christian? This is an open conversation. Not bait. What does it mean to you when you say "I am a christian"
payment for sin is jesus's death? LOL

Twisted thinking.

It does seem very strange that God would make a rule that He knew would cause Him to have to die so that we could remain in His presence. Maybe He just loves a good story.

You finally got it right! Sin can be forgiven. Repent!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24009796

Any "self" that believes that 'G'od 'H'imself would torture 'H'imself to death to pay the penalty for ITS sins is a "self" that considers itself GREATER than God.
