Anonymous Coward User ID: 27450644 United States 01/17/2013 01:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Iran plans to send a live monkey into orbit next month on a satellite carrier to restart its fledgling space program. Quoting: smilesun A prior attempt to send a primate into space reportedly failed in 2011. Hamid Fazeli, head of the Iranian Space Agency, told the Mehr News agency of Tehran that the "testing phase of these living capsules has ended and monkeys to be sent to space are now in quarantine. "Monkeys have similarities to humans, so by observing them in space, we can examine human factors in space," he added. Subject to a successful test run, ISA projects it will be able to send a man into outer space in five to eight years. Iran reportedly aspires to send an astronaut to the moon by 2025. Fazeli also stated: "These monkeys will be sent into space according to a timetable on Fajr Ceremonies," referring to the 10-day period in early February when the Iranian Revolution of 1979 is commemorated. That suggests the launch would have to be done by mid-February. The primate (or primates) will be aboard a satellite called Pishgam (Pioneer). Read more [link to www.ibtimes.com] |

Why did russia suddenly stop helping? it could mean many reasons...but that certainly doesn't mean the Iranians are now working on ICBMs...The Iranians have now finished their own SAM project that they claim to be better than the S-300....either they have worked on all by themselves, or Russia has given them the blue print under the table. either ways, it still doesn't prove Iran is working on ICBMs...I see that they want to really send humans into space...they are the top 10th in nanotechnology R&D in the world...one of the world's leading stem cell researchers...could that also mean they are using it for military purposes so that they can take over the world? |

I will agree to the extent that it could be many reasons, and we do not know exclusively their intention is for military purposes, but I think we should be aware this intention is being looked at as a viable reason. The thing is, we can't argue a hypothetical point, because neither of have yet to learn the outcome of this, but it is smart to be aware and cognizant of all possibilities and ramifications. |
