Automobiles kill thousands every year. Do you feel guilty for owning a car?
How can you in good conscience own or drive a car in this day and age when you know that there are thousands of deaths caused each year by cars. You legal, law abiding, non-drunk driving, licensed car owners should be totally ashamed of yourselves. How can you be complicit with this?

Please, think of the children! We need new car restrictions for their sake!

I propose a total driving radius of no more than 10 miles, a doctors permission slip before driving, and a total ban on SUV sales or anything larger than a compact. Additionally, all speed limits should be reduced to 5 mph.

Also, there must be a total ban on all driving whatsoever in cities like Chicago or New York. The danger of accidents in these high population areas is just to risky.

Also, we will have to ban all gasoline importation and reduction, and ask that walmart no longer sell tires or other parts, even though there is no law against that yet.

Together, I know we can make this country a safe and secure place again for ourselves and our children's future! If you have a shred of human decency, you will turn your car into a gov't car buy back program. Remember, the founding fathers only intended us to have horses and buggies.

Turn in your AAA memberships folks! Stop being an evil car owner! Support automobile control today!

There are govt regulations to keep people somewhat safe. Speed limits, licensing, rules of the road, signs and safety procedures. All of which are reasonable. People are reasonably asking for some of the same ideas when it comes to guns. But for some weird reason when the idea of reasonable gun regulations comes up, half the county explodes (like this very website) with bad analogy's like your OP.

Background checks and limits on clip size =/= Ban all guns.

No one is planning a full gun ban or a gun grab or to round up every gun in the country. NO ONE.

An ultimate goal of the United States is a world which is free
from the scourge of war and the dangers and burdens of armaments;
in which the use of force has been subordinated to the rule of law;
and in which international adjustments to a changing world are
achieved peacefully.

You left out that next sentence which suggests doing it after world peace has been achieved. But that still has nothing to do with your bad analogy in the first post. Should we abandon all driving regulations in the name of freedom?

...after world peace is achieved? or after the NWO is achieved? The plan and goal is to achieve it THROUGH disarmarment of everyone. Get educated.

...and as far as the second question: Should we abandon all driving regulations in the name of freedom? ...let me turn the question back on you: Should we abandon all our freedoms in the name of security? Forget cars, maybe we should all just move to Fema Camps now where everyone is safe from driving, right?

I'll answer your question. Of course we should not abandon all of your freedom for security. But you didn't answer my question. Should we abandon security for freedom? I will assume most people would also say no to that. So those are our two extremes. I think we have to meet in the middle somewhere with reasonable ideas and laws. We have done that with driving and highway laws already in this country. Do people still die? Yes. But are the roads safer due to the laws and regulations put in place? Yes. What i never understand is why sensible and middle of the road ideas about gun control are met with frothing, screaming, opposition.

Because they are not sensible middle of the road ideas. Go read the original post, they are lampoons of what your "sensible middle of the road ideas" would look like if applied to cars. If you really want to find the middle of the road, then you would if anything pull back on gun control legislation...your side of the argument is already driving far to far into the "peoples" lane. The ultimate goal of gun control is to own the whole road so the people have no rights. The proof is in the other countries that have already gone down that road until all the guns were taken away. America would end up looking like Mexico.

Incorrect.

But, you already knew that.

Senator Feinstein is already on record supporting a complete ban and confiscation of all civilian owned firearms. Obama is on record supporting a complete ban of all handguns.

lol you make it sound like there are absolutely no laws on the books regarding guns and their possession. The fail is strong in you libtard.
Ban guns to "save the children" but killing them in the womb is totally cool......I see; it makes perfect sense now.

Guns were made to KILL.

If anyone wants to defend the second amendment...you better find a better angle than trying to compare guns to automobiles.
