Here is a bit more truth about Lincoln. Had slavery been the reason, or part of the reason for the civil war, the war wouldn't have happened.

Lincoln could have bought every slave in the South and North for $500,000,000.
The truth is that the North had slaves too. They were subjected to the worst of atrocities.
Lincoln and the banksters in the north saw the south as rich, financially and in natural resources already developed. They wanted control of it, which is their typical behavior.
In effect, Lincoln and the banksters behaved just the mafia always does. Do business with Vinny ( no offense to good guys named Vinny), or the boss will send in the slash and burn crew.

And to this day, they still do business the same way, matters not what country, race, gender, religious creed, or age.

Indians: 28,693 Native Americans fought mostly for Lincoln

Its really not necessary for you to talk like this. It adds nothing to the discussion and simply displays your character. For the record your link is incorrect. Below is a timeline of events.

-Lincoln was elected on November 6th 1860

-December 20th, 1860, South Carolina held a secession convention in Charleston. The debate was quick and short. Representatives voted unanimously, 169 to 0 for secession.

-Also prior to Lincoln being inaugurated, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Lousiana and Texas left the union.

-Lincoln was inaugurated on March 4, 1861

-On April 12th, 1861, at about 4:30 AM, South Carolina militia forces in Charleston opened fire on Fort Sumter. (This was the trigger that started the war)

OP, I understand what you're saying and do not disagree, but you have to keep in mind that Lincoln was the President of the United States....He was a puppet for the "elite" just like every other president. Lincoln was as much a puppet back then as Obama is today. Sure he was President but he was merely a puppet for the real decision-makers of our country. And the fact that he was assassinated (by the USA, of course) leads me to believe that he was TRYING to do something right (I don't know what) at the time for his 2nd term, and that led to his murder. No different than JFK I suspect... And for all we know, Lincoln could have given a speech completely exposing "TPTB" just like JFK did, except we have no proof because there was no easy way to record audio back then, like we had with Kennedy. Not at all saying it happened that way, but the fact he was hit off is fishy. Just my opinions you don't have to agree. I've heard everything about Lincoln from hero to "mass murderer," everything from Mason to Christian, and everything from homosexual to vampire slayer. For all we know he could have been Hillary Clinton time traveling in drag. One thing is for certain though, and that is that he WAS a puppet for the people that actually run the country...everyone knows the president is simply that; a PUPPET.

He only penned the Emancipation Proclimation (An Executive Order based on no law) late in the war when Northern support for the war was flagging, with most people saying just let the South go their seperate way. Lincoln, faced with the prospect of retreating from the war, co-opted the last group that reinforce the wanning support for the war, the Northern Abolishionists...

Lincoln was no hero, he slaughtered his own people and carried out a slash and burn campaign on the South, and the only reason he took on the bankers, that he was cozy with early in the war, was because they refused to slash the war debt as much as Lincoln had promised to the Northern Industrialists that the banks would...

Excellent post, OP. It's disheartening when you learn that Lincoln, who we were taught as kids growing up in the U.S. was a brilliant leader and a hero, was actually a traitor and a horrifically destructive force in American history.

Few people know that he didn't give a shit about the slaves, and used the Emancipation Proclamation solely as a war measure, to screw the South to the maximum. He actually never even remotely considered making blacks equal to whites in any way, be it socially or politically, and said he'd like to send all blacks to "some fertile country like Liberia, which they could have to themselves".

He had those who disagreed with his policies thrown in prison, without so much as a trial (it's well known he suspended Habeas corpus, in direct contravention to the Constitution). He bought newspapers and forced them to publish propaganda in support of his policies. He stumped for, and successfully ensured the passing of, the Morrill Tariff, which financially crippled the South. The Morrill Tariff was merely the final straw; there had been a series of very draconian tariffs for decades, imposed by the North on the South, and none of them had ANYTHING to do with slavery. The incredibly unjust tariffs were the main reason the South decided to secede from the Union.

But that wasn't acceptable, as far as Lincoln was concerned. In his inauguration speech, he basically threatened to attack the South if they refused to pay the tariff, though he was careful not to use those exact words. But the South had already decided, since the series of tariffs that had been imposed were unconstitutional, that the only option was secession.

A group of Southern states seceded, as was their right under the Constitution, but Lincoln decided that was unacceptable, AND ATTACKED THEM, starting what could only be called, "The War Against Southern Independence". In so doing, he gave a big, fat middle finger to the Constitution, slaughtered untold numbers of his countrymen, and ensured that, absolutely contrary to his most famous quote, that government of the people, by the people, and for the people absolutely DID perish from the Earth.

After Lincoln's horrific actions, the term "These United States" became "The United States". Instead of a group of States with like-minded goals and a shared ideology, who came together and agreed to peacefully coexist for the greater good, after the "Civil War" (a terrible misnomer of a name, by the way) what you had was a far more powerful and more centralized Federal government, which demonstrated that it no longer GAVE A SHIT what the individual states wanted. The states were no longer able to govern their affairs as they saw fit, with only minimal intrusion from the Federal government. Now you had a situation where, if any particular state or group of states decided that the Federal government no longer represented its interests and it decided to secede, the Federal government wouldn't hesitate to use its position of power and influence to ensure that THIS WAS NOT ALLOWED. Even if it had to start a war to enforce that power, it would.

Lincoln set us on the road to perdition we're suffering on today, the one with a tremendously powerful, willfully abusive Federal government that does, basically, whatever the fuck it wants, and states' rights are considered a silly anachronism by the uneducated public, who have been brainwashed by government schooling to believe that Lincoln "saved the Union". What a crock of horseshit!
