Why does it get to you? To keep in silence I resigned Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10783814 My friends would think I was a nut Turning water into wine Open doors would soon be shut So I went from day to day Tho' my life was in a rut "Till I thought of what I'd say Which connection I should cut I was feeling part of the scenery I walked right out of the machinery My heart going boom boom boom "Hey" he said "Grab your things I've come to take you home." (Back home.) Peter Gabriel, Solsbury Hill. Great song about spiritual awakening. If I ever get a funeral I'm requesting it be played. Hmmm. Are you my spiritual twin? This is only the second time I've ever posted on glp, and I was posting the same lyrics seconds apart from you. Interesting. Huh! Wow. I don't know. The funny thing is I was debating between posting the whole song and the last verse, then chose the second verse instead as it has always resonated the most with me. Don't know about spiritual twins, but glad to meet someone who thinks this song is as amazing as I do. |

"Reach out your hand if your cup be empty Quoting: wisc_natureboy If your cup is full may it be again Let it be known there is a fountain That was not made by the hands of man There is a road, no simple highway Between the dawn and the dark of night And if you go, no one may follow That path is for your steps alone Ripple in still water When there is no pebble tossed Nor wind to blow" -R. Why does it get to you? My song changes from year to year as to what is relevant in my life. It used to be all Led Zeppelin lyrics for that celtic love Robert used to put into words so well.... By the turn of the century it was much of "The Fragile" by NIN due to the doom and gloom of love... But right now and lately I am really liking this ancient Brit Rock Song from Procol Harum. The Chorus in Conquistador.... The balance of the lyrics remind me of the now fading star that was once these Great United States of America.... Procol Harum Conquistador Lyrics Songwriters: K. REID, G. BROOKER Conquistador your stallion stands In need of company And like some angel's haloed brow You reek of purity I see your armour-plated breast Has long since lost it's sheen And in your death mask face There are no signs which can be seen And though I hoped for something to find I could see no maze to unwind Conquistador a vulture sits Upon your silver shield And in your rusty scabbard now The sand has taken seed And though your jewel-encrusted blade Has not been plundered still The sea has washed across your face And taken of it's fill more [link to www.lyricsfreak.com] Last Edited by SPUD on 01/18/2013 07:40 PM |

I remember I had a job i wasn't too damn fond of back when,so I'd sing this song "Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most" ___________ "May your chains rest lightly upon you..." |
