What does "the US dollar will collapse" really mean?
i am asking because I honestly don't know and I imagine a lot of others can't fathom all the implications either. Does it mean the dollar will be absolutely worthless? What does it mean as far as mortgage, rent or credit card debt???
Will there be rioting and we'll all kill each other? I would appreciate if someone knowledgable would paint a picture of what life in the US would be like. Thanks.

If you don't know, it's too late to prepare.

Edit: I take that back, it's never too late to do what you can to prepare.

Bread will be a $1000 a loaf, gas $500 a gallon, and you will earn $3,000,000 dollars per month. Just paper.

Well, will there be shortages or a surplus of food and other commodities? If everything is inflated and no one can afford to buy it, then there should not be shortages?

Re: What does "the US dollar will collapse" really mean?
Depends....

The powers that be have many options to keep it floating a bit longer. Best advise is to have food stocked in your pantry and every day items that you use. It is very unlikely that the prices of these items will go down in the next few years.

Anyone that has the ability to grow their own food should check into buying heirloom seeds and a book on how you can keep seeds to plant the next year. Food grown is cheaper than store bought foods.

Also, you can grow your own oranges on small trees that you bring into the house each year. Just saying, there are lots of things that you can grow yourself.

Some people think if things collapse, that you could see prices of everything go up and the wages won't be able to keep up with prices.

Good luck - most people will be in the same boat.

If farmers can't afford to plant, and we can't afford to import, you will see shortage.

Thanks. I have started to stock some food, but somehow it seems pointless. I have family who rely on medication that can't be stocked. If it becomes unavailable or unaffordable then I guess having stockpiles of food really doesn't matter.

Not true.

Your debt will stay exactly as it is now.
Your income will exactly stay as it is now.
There will be no welfare.
Police, Firemen, health workers, i.e. gov employees will not get paid.

A bread will be $500.

You will lose everything you own, as you will not be able to service your debt.

Every business that isn't a Walmart type will go under because they can't maintain selling products at a loss.
